Our place is close to the town centre, parks, art and culture, train station, and has great views. You’ll love our place because of Hebden Bridge is an alternative artsy community, and a charming historic town. Its set amongst the hills, river and canal of the Calder valley: perfect for country walks, bike riding, and horse-riding too.

The space

Our cottage is a late 19th century workers cottage with mullion windows and an open fireplace. Its been charmingly renovated and is really pretty and comfortable.

Guest access

Guests have access to and use of the whole cottage. There is one main bedroom and one attic bedroom; the main bedroom has a queen sized bed and the attic has a double bed.

There is one good sized bathroom on the first floor, next to the main bedroom. It has a shower/bath. There is also a WC in the courtyard, as well as a laundry room with a washing machine.

The kitchen is well-equipped and large.

There is free wifi and the signal strength is good.

There is room to park a car in the laneway by the courtyard.

I booked Matt's place for my parents when they came to visit us in Hebden Bridge. I was very pleased with the place - it was very comfortable and had plenty of space, and is very well-located: both the centre of Hebden Bridge and the local train station are just a short walk away. We were welcomed by a lovely friend of Matt, who explained everything about the property and made sure we knew everything we need to know about the house. My parents had a wonderful time in Matt's place, and recommend it to every visitor coming to Hebden Bridge!

This was my dream place in the heart of yorkshire. It is a very cosy and enjoyed my stay. The village is very nice and easy to get around . Walks down the canal are great along with a trek to hardcastle crag and back. They have a computer monitor(Supports VGA & HDMI) which was a great help with my project I was working on plus if I had remember my chromecast would be a great mini TV (Although can still use my laptop to watch netflix a bit)

The house is in a great location. Despite being small it coped with 4 adults and a dog admirably. Lots of character too.

A great little place that is cosy, comfortable and very functional. We loved the location as there are so many nice shops and restaurants just a few minutes stroll away. It is also extremely convenient for the train station. Matt was a really friendly and helpful host, everything went smoothly with check in and we felt like he would be on hand if there were any issues. Overall great value too.

Response from Matt:
Thanks for coming to stay Steven, and for your comments. The cottage is cleaned prior to guest's arrival and the cleaner is available to come and do the floors during guest's stay (so there is no need to vacum). We have set things up so that they should let guests know that you can ask them and they will come. I will talk with them and make sure the floors are cleaned as the current guests require and check with the guests in person. I do ask people to let me know if they have any issues during their stay, so I can address them as they arise, rather than afterwards. I check the airbnb emails at least once a day so that I can respond as quickly as possible. I haven't been ringing people when I haven't heard from them, as that seems intrusive. However, I might start doing so now to ensure that that people do have the cleanliness and any support they need. The downstairs light fuse is being replaced (the lamps are fine, it's just the overhead light). Following your comment, we are also going to give guests advice on keeping the room well-aired, including using the extractor fan for all cooking on the stove-top, using the smaller top windows to maintain airflow at times during the week, and in autumn and winter, using the wood fire at times. We find that using this combination works well, and appreciate your comment, as I hadn't yet included this as general advice. kind regards, Matt

Great location and value, you can park over the road at the station which is real handy. No freezer but you can easily work around this as shops pubs and take ways are minutes away on foot. No TV so make sure you have a book or laptop if you need to watch your latest episode.

We live in Hebden Bridge in Yorkshire, and move between , the UK, China, and Australia. My Chinese is terrible, but I'm working on it (wo shuo Zhongwen bu hao!). I do research & teaching relating to "race", ethnicity, crime, migration. Like serious movies and cheerful people, the blues and jazz. Am a very slow but enthusiastic runner. Have a nice family, and some good friends. Pretty lucky all in all(:
