Comfy double room in friendly home. Situated in the breathtaking Glenmacnass valley. On the edge of the national park and 5 minutes from Glendalough - by car. This is a must visit for any traveller to the Wicklow area. Incredibly scenic and tranquil.
Visit all those famous & not so well known places from here - we know the hidden gems!
Come find peace!

The space
Whether you're biking, hiking, sightseeing or simply in need of a peaceful break, a warm welcome awaits you at my home. Our home sits on the Military road surrounded by some of the most beautiful sites in Wicklow. The views from the garden are quite special - get close to nature while you sip your morning tea & feel the peace seep into your very soul! Come immerse yourself in the lush green of Summer, the spectacular colours of Autumn, the starkness of Winter & the newness of Spring. Each season holds it's own wonders. And here is where you can find them all!

Our home is friendly and full of character. Self catering accommodation is also available, if that's what you prefer. Take a look at 'Abhaile' on Airbnb, self catering, Glendalough.

Guest access
Bedroom
The bedroom is a large, bright & airy space. Enjoy a comfortable double bed, dressed with fresh linen.

Bathroom
Guests have the luxury main bathroom with shower. Towels provided

Breakfast & Refreshments
We provide all you need to prepare yourself a fresh & tasty complimentary continental type breakfast each morning of your stay. Home made breads, butter, jam, marmalade, a selection of teas & coffee are all available in your room. Our water comes from our own well with no additives.

Feel free to help yourself to complimentary breakfast and herbal teas & coffee any time you like during your stay with us.

Living Space
Our guests can enjoy a living space. We have Cable TV for you to watch if you're missing your favourite shows. As regards internet & mobile phone coverage, I must warn you that as we live in the mountains, the reception is very poor & internet speed is VERY slow. This is really a place to come to get away from all the hassle of every day life - so be warned!

Gardens
At the rear of our house, take in the unrivalled views of the Wicklow countryside, one of Ireland's most inspiring vistas. We have a large planted garden where you can enjoy your morning coffee when the sun decides to shine!

Parking
There is free parking at the front of the house and this is secured at night time.

Other things to note
Ideally a car would be the best way to travel here as there is SO much to see. Just be aware that we are 3.5miles (5.6km) from the nearest village & 6miles (9.6km) from Glendalough. So if you're coming for the scenic beauty of this area, you will need your own transport, as there is NO public transport here! There is a private bus service into the village but it doesn't come near where we are situated - unfortunately.
This is a no smoking zone!

I'm friendly & outgoing. I love meeting new people & sharing my love of this place with them. The peace & quiet of this place soothes the heart & soul - this is my home & I am SO privileged to live here. Walking on my own, with family & friends or with my 3 little dogs is one of my favourite past times. Gardening has become another & my dogs like nothing better then helping me dig! I love music, concerts, reading, spending time with family & friends (most important to me!) Acting as a host with Airbnb has been a wonderfully fulfilling experience, which has enabled me to make new friends from all over the world. I love talking to people & learning their story, telling them about this fantastic area & helping them to find the hidden gems, seeing their reaction, helps to remind me of just how truly privileged I am to live here! I try to live by the saying 'i have too many flaws to be perfect, but I have too many blessings to be ungrateful'
