Our petite 25sq m studio room, is designed for couples or solo's, the room is not suitable for infants.Think of it as a luxurious hotel room with the added bonus of a full kitchen. It has a comfortable king size bed (queen American size)where you can spend an evening watching a movie in front of our wood burning stove.There is no couch in the room , just two comfortable chairs and a dining table.This is the ideal spot for couples looking to explore the beautiful surrounding mountains of Wicklow.
The space
Cullen's Lodge 1 , is a small studio bedroom with two comfortable chairs and a small dining table (it has no couch). The bed is 5ft or king size (queen American size)The bathroom is an open plan wet room. It has a full kitchen with a gas oven and hob , a dishwasher and washing machine. It’s ideal for couples who want to explore Wicklow and enjoy preparing a meal in , while relaxing in front of a real fire , as well as enjoying local restaurants. Please note we live just across from the lodge and there may be other guests staying close by. Think of it as a hotel room with a kitchen ! Check out our other listing lodge 2 if you prefer to eat out , it has a couch and smaller kitchenette for preparing lighter snacks ! We also have a two bedroomed cottage if you are looking for more space and luxury.
Please do not book the room if you feel the price is not good value, we are very clear that it is one room the size is 25 square meters, our price is based on the overall experience including our farm pantry and upkeep of the surrounding gardens, we hope all of our guests can appreciate this.

Guests have full use of their studio room and a small outdoor patio and are free to roam the garden area in front of the Lodges !
Other things to note
Unfortunately our Lodges are not suitable for children they are just 25sq meters of floor space.
Our Lodges and surrounding garden is a NO smoking zone!
We highly recommend a car as taxis need to be pre booked. Our village with pubs and restaurants is a 1.3km walk away on a country road.
We run art classes on a Friday between 11am and 3pm so there may be children playing in the garden during these hours. We can accommodate up to 8 guests on our property , so please take note of this , we also welcome group bookings for groups of 6/8 (no hens or stags, this is a quiet get away) of all our listings when available !
On rare occasions there may be farm machinery operating in the surrounding fields , we don’t have any control over the days or times that this may happen . We want to point it out as we don’t want any of our guests to be disappointed !
We have a rooster called Jeremey and lots of hens that guests are welcome to feed and hopefully enjoy their eggs !
We may be using our own tractor in the garden between the hours of 9am and 6pm. We are constantly working to improve our surrounding gardens for guests to enjoy. We are very aware of not disturbing the peace for our guests so just speak up if this causes any issues. Communication is key !
We have alternative bed linen for guests who wear fake tan or who require to use hair dye while visiting , please inform us before your stay so as we can try and maintain our quality of bed linen. Old towels can be provided on request. We would really appreciate this !
If you require doggy sitting we do have a local lady who will mind pets from her home. She will take a max of two dogs and the dogs need to be child friendly. This way your dog can be minded in a home environment. We have a strict no dog policy in Fort William due to keeping hens and sheep in the surrounding fields !

I have worked project managing building jobs, as a tiler and in interior design for the best part of my career. My husband is also in the building trade and together we created Cullen's Cottages to explore a new world of welcoming guests to enjoy our beautiful Mountain View’s and Roundwood. We are excited to bring people here to share all there is to enjoy in County Wicklow. We are surrounded by walks and are a fifteen minute walk on a country road to Roundwood itself !
