Dimitris was an excellent host, and it was a pleasure to meet both him and his brother, both of which speak excellent English and provided good quick responses to any questions we had. The flat consists of: two bedrooms, a small sitting room, and basic bathroom. It has a good AC unit and the flat was cool. The lift was also a welcome asset. There is a balcony that faces onto a hotel (Albetross), divided by a relatively busy road, you carnt hear the road at nigh when in the bedrooms due to the double glazing, however the road is noticeable when on the balcony. Dimitris was kind to provide us with two child cots as well as food and water, which was gratefully received after our drive. The accommodation has ample parking and the flat is situated near a relatively large supermarket. The location of the flat is a 10 minute walk to the beach that has various bars and midrange sized hotels. The resort, and flat, are family friendly and it is geographically located near some lovely sights. The hotel across the road were also accommodating in allowing us to use there pool.

Dimitris's apartment was amazing. Great size apartment was in the mint condition upon check-in, not to mention the groceries, wine, and toiletries it was packed with. It was great to have everything there, especially since we arrived late at night. The apartment is on the third floor of an elevator building. It has everything a family needs to feel at home. The kitchen is stocked, which allowed us to cook home meals. The supermarket is right across the street, and beach a short 5 minute walk. We were pleasantly surprised how developed the bus system was on the island, as it was also right outside of the apartment. You can get basically anywhere by bus. My family and I are extremely grateful we had chosen Dimitris's place and can't thank him enough for his hospitality and kindness. I highly recommend his place to stay when you're visiting Maleme.

The Apartment is easy accesible, very spacious for two couples with 2 bedrooms, a living room and a big terrace. The Apartment looks even better than in the pictures and is equipped with everything you would need for a pleasant stay. We got a warm welcome present at our early arrival (8am). Dimitri and his family are very friendly and warm people, they even gave us a taste of traditional cretan food. They have been there for us during our entire stay and recommended us places to shop, eat and visit. Overall it was a wonderful experience, our stay at Dimitris Apartment as well as the beautiful beaches and places crete has to offer. We are planning to come back! Dimitris is the best!

The house was very good, clean, comfortable and cool. Dimitris and Stavros were very kind and helpful. In the fridge we found some bottles water and some fruits! On the table there were coffee, bread, honey and other traditional local products. In the bathroom there were some local high quality products. I felt like in my home. His mother offered traditional Cretan boureki! Bravo to all family for great hospitality.

Dimitris and his family were amazing hosts. Dimitris was very good at communicating from the start making sure that the amenities and our preference in terms of bed arrangement were to our liking. Dimitris gave precise information to get to the flat. We got to the flat very easily from the airport as it is on the main coastal road and not far from the motorway. There is also a very convenient parking space with the flat. The flat itself is fantastic: not far from the beach and supermarkets, it is spacious (especially the terrace with its welcoming breeze) - we were a family of 4 and there was plenty of space and room to put away our stuff, well equipped (kitchen and Bathroom) and super clean (spotless I should say) with air conditioning if need be. There is a big fridge where we found fruit (a gift from Dimitris and his family). They also left us amazing local products which we ate/use during our stay. Dimitris and his family were always available if we needed help but were never invasive. The flat has constant hot water, wifi, TV (not that you would want to watch it with so many beautiful things to see) and is very well decorated with items from across the world. We often went to Maleme beach to swim or eat as it is quiet and very convenient. We also took the car around the Island to discover the many places one must visit. The location of the flat is perfect. I thank Dimitris and his family once again for their hospitality (and the lovely food) and, no doubt, we will be back! They also gave us good recommendations on where to go and check-in/check-out was perfect. If you want a calm holiday with access to amazing beaches away from the madding crowds of Malia and Platanias, then this is the place (with a car or there are very convenient buses). All in all, an amazing experience with amazing hosts!

Dimitris and his family were great hosts. He and his brother picked us up from the airport, saving us hiring a car or taking a couple of buses (they didn't want accept payment in the end even for petrol). They provided two single beds for the second room and a range of local foods and drinks that kept us going for much of the week. His mother also cooked us a lovely traditional cretan dish one day. When we suggested a couple of things for the kitchen they sorted them out straightaway. The flat itself is perfect for four people. We were a couple with two grown up children. The big terrace with dinning table allowed us to eat outside all the time in the shade with a partial view of the sea and had a hanging rail to drying clothes on. The beds were comfortable and the air conditioning worked fine to keep the temperature down when it got really hot. The bathroom is small but clean with a washing machine and powder provided. The kitchen has all you need for a week or more. There are a couple of TVs which you could probably hook up with an hdmi cable if you wanted. The apartment is on the third floor of a block on the B road that runs near the coast. It is reasonably busy so there is traffic noise, but the advantage is that there are lots of shops and cafes nearby. There is a supermarket just up the road but the mini market opposite is great for fresh fruit and veg in smaller quantities and makes delicious fresh orange juice. Everybody in Maleme was really friendly to us. The beach is a five minute walk down a side street. The beach itself is pebbly but with plenty of free sun loungers around. The water is great - calm on some days then quite big waves on others (not that good for snorkling as no rocks around). The beach front Taverns provide a great place to eat in the day and evening. Maleme is much quieter than the very touristy resorts nearer Chania, which we really appreciated. There are resort type hotels dotted around but it remains a normal village with relatively few tourists even in late July. The bus to Chania takes about 35 mins and goes every 30 mins so it is easy to get to. We went there a couple of times but decided to rent a car for a couple of days to go to some of the great beaches on the far west of the island. There are also some beautiful walks up into the surrounding hills and olive groves in the evening. We really enjoyed our stay and cannot speak highly enough of Dimitris and his family. They were very attentive but also happy to leave us to get on with our holiday. We really recommend them as hosts.

We had a great time during our brief staying in Dimitri’s apartment. The location of the apartment is perfect to enjoy relaxing holidays and to discover the old town of Chania. Τhe old town of Chania is about 20 minutes away by bus and the bus stop is very close to the apartment. The apartment is also close to a large beach that has a lot of cafés, restaurants and tavernas. In the neighborhood there is a grocery store where we could buy local products and prepare our own meals, since we had everything necessary to cook in the kitchen. The apartment was clean and spacious, exactly as it looks in the photos. Dimitri was a great host. He was very helpful and friendly, and he has offered us a basket with fruits, olive oil and other local products upon our arrival. I definitely recommend this place.

Traveling in foreign places and living as closely as possible as the locals helps a person to grow and develops a unique perspective of the world we live in. And since I love to travel myself, I try to offer the hosting experience that I would like to receive.
