Cheriess's place offers great value and is an interesting place to stay. I felt like I was in a private rain forest. The area is quiet and peaceful. I took advantage of the spa and had an excellent experience. Cheriess is very responsive and a great host!

Aloha Shakati. With each BNB guest we do our very best to make them happy, and their stay with us a positive and memorable one. I am sorry you had problems and wish we could have seen eye-to-eye and earned a better rating. Please keep in mind that you rented our apartment for only $75 a night and yet based on your feedback it's clear you expected a 5 Star Resort setting and all of those amenities. From the very start we upgraded your bed from a double to a brand-new King with a Tempur-Pedic memory foam matress, but you did not mention that in your review. Regarding the faux FUR on the walls, it was an art project put in place a couple years ago and we had considered removing it some time ago but the majority of our guests have said they like it. Ultimately, we do realize it's not for everyone so we have removed it. Regarding the receptionist mixing up the rooms, the names were similar, and it was his first time checking in guests (Super and I were working), so there was a miscommunication and I apologized for that. Only a matter of minutes had passed before we realized what happened and it was immediately resolved. It wasn't like the other guests slept in your bed or even had time to make themselves feel at home. And I was called to verify and found out he had made a mistake. I drove there within 10 minutes and sorted it out. You said you thought the hot tub was included in the cost of the rental, however we are very clear in the "Guest access" field of our AirBNB listing that it is an additional fee. I asked if you wanted use of the hot tub via text message days before your booking, and I reiterated that it would be an added cost. As with any of our guests we wait for their confirmation so that we can have it ready for you and give you a brief run through on how to operate it. Energy costs here in Hawaii tend to be 3 to 5 times the cost elsewhere so we do our best to be frugal with these resources. The $10 per day cost barely covers the cost of power and maintenance. Regarding the TV cable connection not working; it seems a previous guest had unplugged the power cables. Though please recall that when you said you needed help with it, I immediately drove down and was there to help in less than 5 minutes. I did discover it unplugged, and quickly remedied the situation. Now to address your accusations of an unclean space. This is absolutely not true. We take great pride in our space and have a professional cleaning service clean the entire apartment between guests. It has been about a year since the last remodel so there may be some wear-and-tear but that is different than being "clean". You called the Spa and left a message demanding that we spray for pests, however you did not message me thru AirBNB so that caused more of a delay. As you may imagine, running a spa and massage clinic and school keeps us busy but we do prioritize AirBNB guests and simply ask that they message us through AirBNB or text message me directly. When I heard about your unfortunate experience with a roach in your pizza, I rushed right over to see what we could do to help. You said you left a pizza on the counter for 5 minutes. This may or may not be an exaggeration, but it could have been prevented if you closed the box or put the pizza away. While we are lucky to call the paradise of Hawaii our home, we do realize and explain this on our AirBNB listing that in a tropical jungle environment, we simply can't control all of the possible pests. We do spray pesticide around the perimeter of the house and leave roach and ant baits in strategic areas too, but the pests can be really persistent. The simplest solution to all of this is just to be more mindful of leaving food out and cleaning up after preparing food. When all of this happened, I apologized immediately and had someone go with me and spray for pests. When we entered your room, we noticed that the sink was full of dirty dishes, and there was food and dirty dishes all over the kitchen counters. Your clothes and bedding were strewn about the entire apartment as well. In my opinion, your lack of tidiness may have encouraged such encounters with these pests. Also, I had made it very clear that our policy is to return the key to the lock box when you are out, in case of emergency. Instead you left it under the door mat. My staff would not have been able to get in, except that you mentioned on the phone how you did not return your key to its place and where we could find it. I am only mentioning all of this because no matter how Super and I tried to help you and make you feel comfortable and welcomed, you were not happy nor did you follow our simple house rules. I gave you a 4-star rating as a guest, being generous in regard to not following house rules, and being quite the messy guest, and leaving every dish in the apartment dirty and left out for us... For anyone reading this, we have removed the faux fur from the walls, and have removed every appliance from the kitchen and cleaned, disinfected and sprayed pesticide throughout the entire unit. We want to ensure our next guests will find it in their hearts to leave an honest review of their stay and notice the hard work and effort we give to our guests and the apartment we offer them during their stay. This is a lovely, brand new & stylish place close to town. It has everything you'd need in a bnb, including fresh-picked papayas & oranges! The bed is super-comfy, as is the assorted seating. I would definitely come back!
