In a hole in the ground there lived a hobbit. Not a nasty, dirty, wet hole, filled with the ends of worms and an oozy smell, nor yet a dry, bare, sandy hole with nothing in it to sit down on or to eat: it was a hobbit-hole and that means comfort.

The space

I can't believe that we've had the Hobbit House open for over a year now! Thank you so much to everyone that has stayed and left such lovely reviews. Yes it's a small space but everyone seems to have enjoyed staying. We've certainly enjoyed it ourselves a couple of times (well we have t test it don't we!)

Nowhere else can you stay with a view like this from your comfortable bed! We are only 15 minutes from Hay on Wye and the perfect place to stay during the Hay festival.
The Hobbit House has a wood-fired cooker so that you can cook your own meals and there is running water just outside.
A large sofabed folds out to a full-sized double bed with a deep comfortable mattress. All bedding etc provided.
Dinner and breakfast can be provided at extra cost - how about a nice hearty stew in a slow-cooker ready for you to arrive, with fresh bread warming in the Hobbit House's wood-fired oven?
We have a number of great walks starting from the doorstep and a rural pub over the road. (please note that the pub is generally only open at weekends)

Guest access

Guests will have exclusive use of the Hobbit House and it's garden, and a private shower room in the main house from November.
Please note that during October 2017 we will be renovating the bathroom. therefore guests will need to share our upstairs bathroom during this time.

Interaction with guests

You can keep to yourselves or interact with us as much as you like. Dinner and breakfast are available at an extra cost. Please let us know in advance.

Great and quirky Hobbit house, good hospitality and lovely breakfast. Would recommend that. Noise from the road is quite loud in the house - doesn’t seem as close to the road on the listing. Good central location for exploring a Brecons - enjoyed our relaxing few days.

Refreshing weekend escape from the city. Definitely recommend to others wanting to get back to basics. We cooked a delicious omelet on the wood fired stove and had two lovely cosy evenings here. Thank you for hosting us and please build more hobbit houses!

A great place to stay, wonderful fun to snuggle down in the Hobbit Hole, light the fire and spend the evening. Breakfast takes things to a new level. We can not recommend the pancakes too highly.

Myself, my 6-year-old and our dog had a fun homeschooling adventure at the hobbit house. I think our blog post says it all... (URL HIDDEN)

My mum and I stayed for the weekend and we really could not recommend the Hobbit Hut enough. Considering it was early November there was a worry it might be a bit could but with the wood burning fireplace/cooker we were more than cosy. We'd certainly recommend the casserole on arrival and breakfast, both were really tasty. Tin was a brilliant host and the views/location was incredible, we've already started making plans to go back next year!
