This exquisite gypsy caravan has been built to exacting standards.
You can stand up inside and stretch out in bed, and see for miles, no roads, cars, or people, only birds sheep and trees. A snug wood burner keeps you warm.
A separate kitchen cabin with incredible views is perfect for slow cooked meals.
A complete retreat from the world.
Stroll around the garden, climb a mountain, take a sauna or just relax.
Let go of the outside world, no phones, no hassle, no intrusions, a simple life!

The space

Staying in this space is like living in a jewel box.
This caravan has been built by the artist owners on a large 1920s heavy horse cart (so even if you are 6' 6"you can stand up and stretch out) with beautiful hand carved and painted details, gold leaf, brocade and shiny brass work.
Sit back, light a fire in the wood-burner, cosy up in bed and read a book, drink some wine, play a game or snooze in a super comfy bed and do absolutely nothing!
We have also built a wooden canvas topped cabin for the kitchen with stunning views through the trees over the Cambrian mountains.
Set at around 200m the space looks over rolling hills and woodland. You can also see the mountain Cader Idris from here.
There is separate compost loo set a short distance from the wagon with a stunning view.
Set on our isolated smallholding looking out over the mountains, the nearest house is nearly half a mile away, so you hear no traffic, just birds, wind and the rustling of interesting creative projects.
You can take many different walks from here into the surrounding hills.
There are also mountain bike circuits and plenty of wild tracks nearby.
Bring all the food you might need as once here you wont want to burst the bubble by having to go shopping!

We are currently working on a self contained wood burning shower for the space, but for now you will have to use the downstairs bathroom in the main house.

Guest access

You park in our farmyard and walk 100m or so down a green lane to get to the caravan. It is completely isolated, but we are not so far away if you need anything.
You are welcome to wander throughout the four acres of gardens orchards and trees here as well as exploring the adjacent 800 hectare common and surrounding landscape. There are plenty of great walks and rights of way just ask us for directions. We provide maps for your use.
We are currently working on a self contained wood burning shower for the space, but for now you will have to use the downstairs bathroom in the main house.

We also have an amazing SAUNA on the hill with a huge plunge pool which can be fired up by prior arrangement (supplement £10 to cover running costs)

Interaction with guests

We are usually around on arrival, but will let you know if we cannot be,so just ask if there is anything you need.
We love to meet people and chat to fill you in on the details in person.
We have travelled a lot ourselves, so know that its nice to meet people but great to be find space in a busy world.
Happy to tell you all about the area, where to go and what to do. To us meeting our guests and sharing this amazing place is the part of the joy of Air BnB. It has become quite busy living in the middle of nowhere!

Other things to note

This is sheep country and its a small space which we would prefer to keep hair/alergy free, so sorry no dogs please.
We have a small dog here, a jack russell called Stella , she is super friendly and may come and visit to play with her ball or see if you have dropped any food! Please do not let her in the caravan.

The caravan itself is wonderful - really beautifully built and decorated, very well laid out, with discreet lighting and an incredibly comfy bed with beautiful views. The kitchen area is also wonderful - a really nice space with great, panoramic views. And the area is very remote (no mobile signal - heavenly!) and peaceful and quiet. If you're looking to get away from it all, and do some upscale 'glamping', then this is the place for you. The nearest town (Machynlleth) is about 15 minutes drive away and has great local food as well as a large Co-op for other supplies.

A truly great place for a retreat Jonny and Pippa are lovely people who have done a wonderful job on their caravan. Everything was spotless and the sauna and dip in the evening was a real treat. Beautiful views from every angle. The bed is really comfy too!

Our stay at the Gypsy Caravan was everything we ever hoped it would be. The caravan is beautiful with plenty of space for two people (we were a mum and daughter visiting and it wasn't too cramped!) The views are fabulous and the sauna and pool is a MUST. The guys have really thought of everything to make a stay enjoyable - the kitchen hut has everything you need, the compost loo was immaculate and the caravan is full of little touches that make it feel like home. Jony and Pippa were fantastic hosts - so welcoming and accommodating, helping us with a walking route and getting the sauna nice and toasty! We left feeling the most relaxed we have possibly ever felt after a weekend break and would absolutely recommend a stay here to anyone and everyone! Thank you Jony and Pippa - we will be back!!

Most memorable experience I have had on years. Beautiful location and accommodation hand made with love care and affection. Lost for words to be honest. Just hope I get to return again. Just a big thank you to J and P for opening up their space to others and allowing myself and partner to enjoy a few days in this haven. Thank you!

When we saw the place 2 months back, we decided immediately that we'd spend our babymoon here. Then finally that day came and I was 30 weeks pregnant then. The place was absolutely breathtaking and Jony and Pippa's taste, creativity and lovely idea to make a gypsy caravan for staying in the dramatic place is even more worth appreciating! We felt like a honeymoon couple though we had our short (weekend) babymoon there! Such a romantic, quiet, secure and secluded dreamy location it is!! Very remote, thats just what we prefer. Pippa's artwork in the caravan was just mind blowing!! We had our long cherished pregnancy photo shoot in that amazing place and in the caravan and our friends were just amazed to see them. Everybody asked about the details of that place! If anyone wants to know how it feels snuggling up closest to the nature with a very private but helpful hosting, you should straightway come here. Jony and Pippa arranged every possible thing anyone might need in that caravan and they make an excellent host. We felt like very welcoming! Thank you so very much for your hospitality Jony and Pippa. We surely will come back with our son next time. Kasana/Avi

We stayed five nights and could've stayed five weeks! Such a perfect spot and the caravan is even more beautiful in real life. If you want somewhere to escape and unwind then this is for you. Jony and Pippa are super friendly and helpful too. The kitchen is really well equipped, mini fridge, gas hobs and plug sockets - plus an amazing view! Stay a few nights if you can it's worth it!
