Waterfront property with dock, row boat and wood stove sauna by the water.

The space

Agnesberg is situated on an island called Ramsö, a 15-minute public boat ride from Vaxholm and about 90 minutes by boat from Stockholm. Vaxholm is a very nice little town with shops, restaurants and a fortress with a museum. Ramsö is small a car-free island with a year-round population of about 50 people. The island has gravel roads perfect for walking and running.

Guest access

This rental includes two separate houses. The main guest house has two bedrooms with a total of four beds, kitchen and bathroom, and the cottage on the water has a single room with one queen size double bed. One of the bedrooms in the main guest house has a bunk bed, and the other bedroom has a two single beds put together as a double bed, but can be separated at your convenience. The cottage down by the water (about 100 m from the main guest house) is heated but has no running water.

Interaction with guests

I live in the main house on the property.

Other things to note

To get here you need to take a Vaxholmsboat from Vaxholm or Stockholm. Taxi boats are available.

We spent a wonderful week with our two kids (age 11 and 14). Fredrik is a very friendly host. He came to pick us up at the jetty and gave us valuable tips for our stay. The nearby Vaxholm is a great starting point for island hopping in the archipelago and going to Stockholm on the historic steamboat is also fun and surprisingly inexpensive. The cabin is very clean, new and nicely furnished. It even has a dishwasher witch is not mentioned in the listing. Direct access to the water and a beautiful view are among the outstanding features of this accomodation.

Fredrik is a very friendly and helpful host, easy and fast to communicate with. His place is exactly as beautiful as shown on his pictures, it was everything we hoped for. The house had everything we needed and the extra bedroom was very convenient, the little balcony out to the sea really beautiful for reading or watching the rich birdlife pass by. Ramsö is a nice little island to explore and a good location to venture out to other islands by boat or take a daytrip to Stockholm. The ferry boats are so comfortable that even longer rides are a real pleasure. We appreciated the trips on the old steamboats as well. Thank you Fredrik, hopefully again some day.

We absolutely loved our stay in this idyllic setting. Amazing views out over the water from both cabins. The island is car free, making for a relaxing holiday and a chance to get away from the city, but there are frequent ferries throughout the day for when you want to visit another town or island. Fredrik went above and beyond, meeting us from the ferry and helping us with our luggage, as well as checking in throughout our stay to make sure we had everything we needed. I would definitely recommend staying here.

Fredrik was the perfect host. He met us off the boat and took us and our luggage the short ride to the house on his electric cart. We had use of the waterside area, rowing boat, sauna and boathouse with fridge, bar and music! This is an idyllic place, peaceful and beautiful. Next time we will stay longer!

A great 5 days for our family. Fredrik was available pre-arrival to answer all our questions and was there at the pier to meet us as we got off the boat. The transfer to the cottage was easy, with 2 young children and bags it's not always the case. The relaxed pace immediately took away the stress. The apartment was all we expected with the grounds and amenities more than we expected. Functional, peaceful and calm, with the sunny weather it was fabulous. We did trips on the ferry, both to Vaxholm (15 minutes), which has family friendly bistro's and was a shopping adventure for my 4 year old and further to central Stockholm(1 hour 20) as a day trip. Ramso was lovely to stroll around or you can sit by the waters edge at Fredriks and watch the world go by. We wished we had planned to stay longer.
