This is quite surprising that you left this in depth detail on our home Sasha. I am sorry you did not read our profile completely before booking. We do disclose these things you mentioned if you had read the profile thoroughly: we do state that we stay in the back house (not garage) and that we have 3 small dogs that are with us in the back house, making sure that guests will be OK with this. The dogs are never in the main house where guests stay, therefore whatever you smelled was not dogs. We also mention we are a shoes off house and no other guests have an issue with this. But if you did, there was no concerned mention in your inquiry conversations to us. You did mention that you have been declined from other hosts regarding the nature of your business not being entrusted to hosting party events. We graciously still allowed you to stay.
In regards to your suspicion of what you thought was a secret camera, violating your privacy is not only 100% illegal but if you would have asked us, we would have told you exactly what it is, which is a disarmed motion detector for our alarm system. Which by the way is always disarmed when we host guests. In addition, there are absolutely no cameras inside the house for the simple reason that it is 100% illegal and we would never do that. Again, the motion detectors are for the house alarm system and not a camera.
Interesting that you were conscious about being watched when I never even met or saw you on your stay here, other than your assistant who I welcomed to the house upon arrival.
All I can suggest when using Airbnb, is to read profiles and house guidelines much more carefully before booking, and to actually talk to the hosts about any issues or questions you may have. You may find that you may not have to make such in depth complaints again.
