The New Inn is a family run traditional pub offering cosy B&B accommodation, with real wood burners, great hosts and friendly, characterful locals!

The space

There are three bedrooms altogether all located on the first floor above the public bar. All rooms are equipped with flat screen televisions, free wifi, tea & coffee making facilities, toiletries, hairdryers and bathrobes for extra comfort!

Small Double (Sleeps 2) - small room with a standard double bed, a sink in the room and a private shower room just across the hallway.

Small Single (Sleeps 1-2) - small room with a standard double bed accessible from one side, a sink in the room and a private bathroom just across the hallway.

Each small bedroom is £55 per night. The comfortable triple room with en-suite is £85 per night, please message us to find out which rooms are available for your stay.

Please note, a light continental breakfast is included in the room price, however there's also a full breakfast menu with delicious cooked options for an additional cost. This allows us to keep our room prices as low as possible, providing more flexibility for the budget traveller.

Downstairs there's a cosy public bar and a dining room where breakfast is served, both with log burning stoves. The New Inn is well known in the area for gorgeous food so if you decide to have lunch or dinner be prepared to be fed traditional favourites such as homemade steak pie, fish and chips and whole lot more everyday on the menu. And It can't get better when you can enjoy a nice pint of the selection of Real Ales on offer at the bar or maybe sample a selection of local Whiskys or Scottish Gins.

Guest access

Guests will be able to access all public areas of The New Inn, including the public bar and dining room on the ground floor.

Interaction with guests

We're originally from Yorkshire in England and have owned the pub since 2011. We have been lovingly renovating the building, inhabiting it with old furniture and quirky artefacts but most importantly, we've spent most of our time getting to know the wonderful local people and of course our visiting guests.

We live on site in private rooms on the first floor, but 99.99% of the time we're busy running the pub and looking after our guests, so we're alway on hand to help you and advise you on your trip to the best of our ability! You really will experience the true Scottish way when you book this beauty with this quirky traditional pub full of the local Scots and excellent hosts.

We hope to see you in the future, Gary & Maxine Smith

Other things to note

As the guest rooms are located above the public bar, we cannot guarantee silence until after our closing time of 12.30am.

Breakfast included in the room price is a 'Light Continental', a full breakfast menu is available for an additional cost.

Our public bar is dog friendly but unfortunately we cannot accommodate dogs in the guest rooms.

The Inn, when we found it – not having an address nor its name - was comfortable although the room a bit cramped and shower not always reliable. It was our first experience of a commercial premise on Airbnb. Our hosts were very welcoming, breakfast was great, and the dining room warm and comfy. Thanks Maxine

Staying at the inn was a great time. Maxine and Gary were lovely hosts, very friendly and accommodating. I was sharing a room with a traveling companion and it had three beds and was comfortable, but basic. Shared WC down the hall. Downstairs is a cosy pub where Leona and Tommy provided excellent service and conversation. You can have food in the pub or in the small dining area at the rear off the inn. Breakfasts were available in the dining room at reasonable cost and were good. They also had cask ales and a nice selection of whisky in the pub with an emphasis on local single malts. Everything we had was good: breakfast, dinner, or to drink. Evening conversations were friendly and fun. You can also book a fishing trip with Gary. Highly recommended! I had a blast fly fishing on the river Deveron. Maxine also had fantastic suggestions for things to do. At here recommendation we went to Portsoy, a lovely harbor town, and Cullen, for a bowl of excellent Cullen Skink. She also recommended a tour of the Glendronach distillery. A must see! Traditional distillery that is very beautiful and has excellent whisky! There are also many Pictish stones in the area for another fun day trip idea.

We stayed with Maxine for one night and had a lovely time. The room itself was clean and comfortable; a good firm mattress and tea/coffee available. We spent the evening in the downstairs pub having dinner and playing cards, and the service was really friendly. Maxine served a delicious breakfast the next day and gave helpful suggestions of local visiting spots. We highly recommend this location.

The bnb is above a great bar. Both are family run. Friendly locals were in and out of the bar all day. If curry is on the menu of the day, eat it!

We are the proud owners of The New Inn.
We are originally from Yorkshire but have always loved Scotland, we found this little pub last year and have turned it around into a cozy little b&b selling traditional food.
