About this listing

Our cool and unique space offers accommodation for two people . The sleeping area comprises of two single beds and is perched above the studio in a loft accessed by a very steep stairs (not for the faint hearted) . Comfortable seating area downstairs with wood burning stove and a great bathroom.

The space

This is a lovely unique space with a great wood burning stove. The stairs are very steep but other than that the studio is great. There is parking for one car which Is very important in Kinsale as there is very little parking in town especially in Summer months. . It's a short stroll down town from the Studio and enjoy all that Kinsale has to offer . There is no cooking facilities but there is a fridge and kettle . Pack a pair of sandals or similar as the tiles down stairs can be chilly in the morning.

This is my second time staying at Martha's loft and both times I've found it to be a great place to stay. The beds are comfortable, the location is excellent and the check-in and check-out are extremely well managed. This is a great place to be based for a visit in Kinsale. Martha also has good restaurant and activity recommendations.

Stayed in Kinsale at this location and really enjoyed it. The description on the site was accurate and I didn't get any bad surprises. I loved the location, was a 5 minute walk into the town. The studio was clean and Martha had food and drinks for me when I checked in. She was also always available by phone or email whenever I needed something and was friendly and welcoming. I would definitely stay there again if in Kinsale and would recommend it fully.

Very nice place to stay! Cozy, comfortable, tidy, and affordable. The shops are down the road, down the stairs and you're immediately in the middle of town, perfect location. Martha is a very good host, friendly and helpful, gave us a map, directions, recommendations on where to eat and visit, and even let us borrow umbrellas and raincoats (we forgot to bring our own :P) and picked us up from the bus stop (we're not great with directions) and dropped us off when we left (so we didn't have to drag our bags all the way to the bus stop) very kind! The stairs are steep, but the steps and handrail are sturdy, we managed them fine. Wifi is available and worked perfectly on iPads, laptops, kindles, but sometimes didn't connect to the phones (so don't worry, it does work, just use a different device) Bus 226/226A leave on the hour every hour until late to Cork, only a 45 minute ride. Bus fare is cheap (especially if you have a student ID) so if you want a bigger city to explore, it's a nice, short ride away (from Cork you can get just about anywhere in a few hours) If you forgot anything, there are about 3 quick shops very nearby to pick things up from, and in Cork, the mall is literally across the street from the bus station (enter through Dunne's store on the side) If you don't want to carry your bags around town while shopping in Cork, next to the bus station is a place to store shopping for a few euro called Recharge, so you can shop around, store bags, take a bus somewhere cool, then collect them and head back to Kinsale. Kinsale is a beautiful town, everyone's very kind to tourists and there's much to do (shops, cafes, pubs, walking paths, tours, and quite a few historical sites, etc.) Helpful tip, most things close at 6pm, (except for pubs) so plan accordingly :) You should book here, it's really good!

Martha and her husband gave us the perfect introduction to Kinsale! My friend and I were pretty independent during our stay but it was a big relief to know that if we needed anything, they were more than willing to help us out. The loft is a perfect distance from the town center; we had no issues getting around. Thank you, Martha! If we're ever back in Kinsale, we'll be sure to look to see if your flat is available :)
