Fantastic experience staying at Erik's place in Amsterdam. Erik allowed us flexible check in and check out times which greatly simplified our travels. Erik greeted us at the accomodation to check us in. The place itself was clean, comfortable and spacious. Would reccomend highly.

We enjoyed our stay at Erik's apartment but it was not ideal for us as an overall experience. For my first Air bnb experience, it did not fill me with positivity for this way of travelling. The place was nice, but not 15 mins from Amsterdam Centre as advertised or 3 beds, (one double bed and one blow up mattress on the floor, which one of our party found very uncomfortable) if this information was given, we may have chose another place to stay. We paid quite a bit of money for this place, so when we realised these things had not been advertised honestly we were disappointed. The arrival at the place was also not idea for us, as Erik had a meeting so we had to wait in town and then meet him later in the afternoon, when we arrived in the morning, which he was late to and the address on air bnb was incorrect. We called a bell of an apartment block two blocks over from where the place was, and we only found out where the actual apartment was once calling Erik after the person said we had the wrong place. He gave us the apartment number after we called him, but this should not be incorrect on the listing in the first place. He also asked us to tell people we were his friends and not staying via air bnb which we found uncomfortable. For the price we paid, we could have got something closer to town and have a bed each, I do not think I will be using air bnb in the future any time soon.

Response from Erik:
Very interesting review, here's some explanation, mainly as the word honesty is used but the review doesn't seem to be that honest: First of all, none of the points here were told during check in, the stay or check out.... Yes, I did have an important business meeting in the morning when they arrived, so I arranged someone was in my place when they arrived, I informed them a few days before arrival, I offered to pay for the luggage lockers on Amsterdam Central station, I arranged someone in my apartment to welcome them, why they weren't able to find the apartmemt or the doorbell is still unclear to me. The add says two bedrooms and three beds, I offer a bouble bed of 2,00 by 2,10 and a single bed, upon arrival I offered to arrange an extra bed, which wasn't needed then. They talk about a blow up bed, which is a bit surprising, according to several reviews the matress I offer are about the best you can buy. With the tram you can reach the Vondelpark in 15 minutes, Leidseplein in 20 minutes and Rembrandtplein in 25 minutes, according to most people, both residents and tourists, that is the Amsterdam city center. If they have a different definition about a city center, that's ok, but I use the definition of around 99,9%. Also this group expected three seperate beds (just read the add), extra keys for the group (no one asked about this before or during the stay), and everything arranged upon their early arrival and check in needs early in the morning at 9 am. As said, none of these points were mentioned by this party before or during the stay, though we had quite good contact via (SENSITIVE CONTENTS HIDDEN), I think their suggestion of not renting again via airbnb is a good idea. For next time visiting Amsterdam I recommend they book the Amstel hotel royal suite.

Situated about a 30 minute tram ride from the centre however the tram resides directly outside of the building so wasn't too much hassle. Supermarket is also very close and has everything you may need. The apartment was gorgeous, sofa was incredibly comfy and we did use this as a bed on a few occasions. Bedrooms were comfy too as well as clean and tidy. Erik was very helpful when giving us directions and other than that just left us to it for a week which is what we wanted. All round brilliant host and apartment, would highly recommend.

Absolutely amazing stay for the price, just a minute away from the tram to the centre of Amsterdam. We were met there by eriks housekeeper who shown us round his flat (which was amazing!) And was available to contact whenever needed. First time on airbnb and it was brilliant!

It's really a cozy place not that far from central amsterdam. Definitely to stay there and return at night to relax in a residential area. The apartment is real luxury and the host is also very friendly.
