Welcome to our fully self contained cottage in a private setting settled on the side of the Kyrenia Mountains in Cyprus. Enjoy the Mediterranean view, walking in the hills, or just kick back in the sunshine. Close to shops and nature and beaches.

The space

A single two bed cottage with fully equipped new kitchen, gas hob and electric oven, and plenty of open space for relaxing and dining. The shaded front patio is great for relaxing and enjoying the sunshine or shade, whichever you prefer.

Located in Lapta on the edge of olive groves and a semi rural setting the property is set 30m off a quiet road, and is gated with a private driveway to park the car. The cottage is secluded with gardens, fruits trees (pick some if in season), and an olive tree and we have a small olive grove you can explore.

The house can accommodate up to 5 people with 3 beds and a fold out sofa bed and has all necessary amenities (linen and towels are provided). A washing machine is available for personal laundry.

This house is ideal for people who love nature, quiet country-walks and who want to experience the authentic way of Cyprus life and genuine hospitality. The green and clear environment, blue skies and the relaxing atmosphere make this place a small piece of heaven.

On monthly rates electricity, gas and water are charged as extra, however wifi is provided free of charge. In summer there may be extra charges for air conditioning use, depending on the length of stay.

Guest access

You can use the entire property. It is set 30 metres off a quiet road and has a private gate to create a secure and secluded environment. Park your car in the drive or outside the gate. Free free to eat fruit from the trees in season and you can sit outside the house section amongst the olive trees (we own those too).

We stayed here for 5 nights during August. Communication with David was easy, he was always quick to respond. Even though there was no one there to welcome us, it was easy to get into the house after the instructions. It wasn't easy to find with our navi, we ended up in the hills somewhere, small roads, very steep, so stick to the instructions Dave sends you! The house is just as it looks on the pictures. Nice, clean, big, good beds and shower, fully equipped kitchen and big fridge. Shade all around the house for cool breakfasts! The location is great. You do need a car though. Teo's restaurant around the corner is good, Teo is incredibly friendly and his wife is an excellent cook. You can also walk down to the strip (30 mins), but for us it's too busy. We did walk to Alsancak one evening (20 mins) and there are nice restaurants there too. Shops are close for your groceries. Beaches are mostly gobbled up by hotels, but Sardunya beach is nice if you want to have beds and an umbrella. Most hotels allow access to the beach for a small fee too. So...I'd say book this place and you will not regret it!

Response from David:
Thanks Diana. Glad you explored the local area, and yes agree Sardunya is a great place to relax away from the crowds. Teo will have been happy to have you try out his place.

This was one of our favourite stays in Cyprus. The location is very authentic in a lovely small town an easy drive from Kyrenia/Girne. The house was very clean and well presented.

Crib Badem is the perfect place to stay in Northern Cyprus . Peace, quiet, lovely gardens and places to sit in the sun amongst the fruit trees. Everything you could want in the cottage. We hired a car as recommended by David (you do need a car !) and enjoyed a full week discovering Northern Cyprus. Make sure not to miss Babel Gardens (but go early for breakfast and during the week as it can get busy). They are a joy to visit and very close by. Plenty of local little supermarkets and fruit and veg market just on the main road. David was most helpful. Thank you for a wonderful week.

Quite difficult to find a car is a must.

Response from David:
Hi Stella, It's great that you had a car, so you could explore the wonderful island. We gave you detailed instructions on how to find our property and understand you had problems with your GPS. All other guests that have stayed have had no issue in locating the property based on our detailed directions.

We had a really wonderful stay! The house is cosy and at the same time feels spacious with the awesome open kitchen and high ceilings. The view is beautiful from every window - green everywhere, beautiful fruit trees packed with oranges in the winter, lots of different plants, the mountains and the sea. I loved watching as the weather changed and the clouds filled the sky above the sea with texture and then moved on, giving way to sunshine. It was a perfect getaway for a two-week winter holiday, even as most tourists visit the area in the summer. The house was warm and cosy and the roads free of traffic. David is a wonderful guest! He was there to welcome us, recommended a great car rental company and always answered messages promptly. We left wishing we could stay longer!

We had a wonderful stay! A beautiful cottage with stunning views of the mountains and walks. Fruit growing in abundance, my daughter and I had a 'nature walk' one morning and counted 7 different fruits we saw! Loved having breakfast on the front patio in the sun. We contacted David on a couple of occasions to ask for directions and a few other questions and he responded straight away. A lovely, rural, secluded getaway! Many thanks.

Response from David:
So glad that you enjoyed it Philip. In a couple of months we will have oranges, mandarins, pomegranates as well :) I wonder whether your daughter spotted the almond and olive trees? You are welcome to return and try the new fruit out when they are ready.

Nice house in a lovely garden. Larger than expected. David is very helpful and gave us a lot of assistence i.e. he organized a cheap car for us. Especially we recommend a very helpful walking guide in the house which we used several times. Excellent hints in a selfmade file.

I am from New Zealand and have been moving from place to place around the world over many years. I enjoy visiting new places and have a great passion for photography. I am currently living in a traditional cottage in Lapta, Northern Cyprus - its close to my dream to live on a tropical island in the near future.
