A two storeyed bungalow in an upcoming well connected suburb of Mumbai, guests get a full room for themselves. They are also welcome to share the house with the family (me). There's also a terrace if people want to camp out in the open air.
Rights of admission reserved with me (owner)

The space

It is a self contained room with its own bathroom, backdoor leading into a garden, storage units and ample space to throw your yoga mats as well. The room is on the ground floor with a nice quiet garden around it.

The house itself is inside a gated community with 24 hours security. It is in the corner away from the more noisier part of the community. There is 24 hours running water (unless there's some emergency - pipe burst, municipality cuts down water supply, etc.).

Guest access

Guests have access to the kitchen (and if they are familiar with the Indian gas stoves, they are welcome to cook). There is a small drawing room / library with a television and multi-format DVD & USB player. The second floor is a covered terrace (see photos) and guests can access that.

Interaction with guests

I respect my guests' privacy and the room is designed for that. However, it is a big house with lots of spaces for open discussions and guests are more than welcome to join in.

Other things to note

There is wi-fi in the house (but occasionally the phone company which provides the service does go off the air).

Smoking allowed
Wireless Internet

House Rules
Not suitable for pets
No parties or events
Not safe or suitable for children (0-12 years)

There are no major house rules.
- Smoking can be done in the garden.
- Guests can bring in alcohol for their own consumption. However, they will have be conscious of their own behaviour as the house is inside a gated community and I don't want to be excommunicated by the neighbours for any unruly behaviour.
- The room will be cleaned everyday. However, my staff are very hesitant to enter the room when guests are in the room.
- Please do inform when borrowing books / music / video discs from the library. While they are there in the library for consumption, I am a little possessive about them and would like to make sure they do not become extra baggage for the guests.

Anannya's place is easily accessible, yet a delightful, secluded bungalow. I didn't get to interact much with our host since the stay was just one night. The house is fairly clean, with only the bathrooms being dusty. I felt like I was walking into someone else's life, with pictures and souvenirs from around the world and an extensive collection of gorgeous books. Although the listing does mention that no essentials (towels, body soap, shampoo) are provided, this does make it slightly difficult for a short stay. I would definitely recommend the place, but for longer stays in Mumbai and when more interaction with the host is possible.

I enjoyed my stay at Annanya's. He was really prompt with communication and I really appreciated him being flexible with my check in time! The location worked well for me. I thought my room was a bit dusty which I didn't like but otherwise the space is lovely and would have been nice to have a bit more time there.

Beautiful place with lovely hosts! Definitely Mumbai home away from home!

Good apartments, friendly hosts. Small transport difficulties in this area, but it has no relation to the room.

I stayed in India for last 3 years and because of my finished house agreement with landlord, I searched the room in Mumbai. Fortunately, Anannya offered me very nice room with reasonable price and thoughtful help. I spent homely time in the room. + acceptable price, big room in shadow(cooler than other place), nice toilet, helpful and kind owner(Anannya), fast wi-fi, kind housekeeper, real indian style - self do laundry, to many dust in the room, too many pictures in the room(private pictures of someone) which made me embarrassed, no soundproof, noisy work in process due to making new toilet to the next room without advance notice. It was fine room with the very reasonable price.

Annanya is a very nice host, willing to answer all the questions you might have on culture, politics etc. The place although is pretty far away from downtown Mumbai, you feel at home and for sure you will appreciate a calm and peaceful spot away from the noise and traffic.

A traveler who understands what fellow travelers need when they are on the road - a nice comfortable bed and some pleasant conversations. You can definitely find that here at my place.
