Our cool and comfortable two bedroom bamboo cabin has a true rustic feeling! The view of Costa Rica and the pacific ocean is exquisite. It comfortably fits two couples and is located on wildlife reserve. Our welcome center nearby provides a bakery.

The space

This bamboo house has been built on a private parks, wildlife, and recreation facility within the threatened dry tropical forest of Southwest Nicaragua, O Park is located on the outskirts of the San Juan Del Sur municipality (18 miles from Downtown). The wildlife park itself is positioned on a national historic site where took place a brutal David vs.Goliath battle between the Sandinistas and Dictator Somoza's well-fortified troops.

Amenities for sleeping guests is appropriately rustic and includes a comfortable private queen size bed and 2 bunk beds, 12 volt electricity, compost toilet, and private outdoor shower. Continental breakfast and free Wifi is available in the welcome center. Phone signal is available, and typically you need to purchase phone minutes and we can help.

Attractions include the beautiful view of Costa Rica and Pacific Ocean, an onsite zipline (canopy ride), bike trails, walking trails, fruit/nut orchard, wildlife, and slingshot paintball.

To eat, we house a fine good bakery and pizza baked fresh in our wood oven during the day. Please order early.

If you would like to volunteer at the park, we train and provide opportunities for flora and fauna spotting, blazing trails, reforestation, or gardening. Steward and owner is a retired NYC firefighter.

The mangrove-cradling coastal town of El Ostional is a small fishing, farming, and crafts and woodwork community. They have horse and boat tours, cultural events, and multiple eating places and rooms for rent. El Ostional Beach is one of a dozen cozy cove beaches within San Juan del Sur.

Transportation to your destination is easy by rented car, taxi, shuttle, or bus. A bus arrives and departs O Parks twice daily. The bus costs 42 cordobas or less than $2 USD. Or we can arrange for taxi or shuttle for an average cost of $50 to $60 one way.

Guest access

(1) Walking and biking trails throughout the 40 acre park;
(2) 5 Acre permaculture fruit and nut orchard;
(3) Fastest, longest and safest zipline canopy (upgrade price)

Interaction with guests

Our staff are certified tour guides, live locally, and are available on-site as well as via phone and sms because we all have a farm and eco-tourist attractions to professionally manage. Plus interesting things like animal spottings and pastoral animal births keep us just inside the forest edge.
