Irish Independent article:

Sheep’s Head
We’re pretty confident that West Cork is not only one of the most impressive destinations in Ireland but in Europe and the Sheep’s Head Peninsula offers a stunning drive to take in the sights between Bantry Bay and Dunmanus Bay. Leaving and finishing in Bantry, out the road to Durrus and the road to Kilcrohane allows you to take in the hairpin bends around craggy outcrops of rock and to the sea with some sunning sheer cliffs. You can stop the car and follow the Sheep’s Head Way by foot along 89 km of trail with a low difficulty rating and some unforgettable scenery.

The Wild Atlantic Way is the world's longest defined coastal touring route. It's inspiring, renewing, relaxing and invigorating. It's yours to experience however you choose.

Absolutely gorgeous location, and Mary's house is beautiful, designed to capture the wonderful views offered across Bantry bay. Make sure to spend at least one day at the house to enjoy the house and views, and capture some amazing sunsets. We spent a week with family from the U.K., explored the sheep's head peninsula and beyond. The weather was glorious, allowing us to swim almost every day. Recommend doing at least one of the longer walks on the sheep's head to fully understand the beauty of the area. In the locality for food I'd recommend food in Akhista, but make sure to reserve a table. We'll be back!!!

The house is luxurious. Make sure to read the guidebook for the house. Important to know that it is 20drive from Bantry so you definitely need a car. Also, it's important to drive slowly as the roads are narrow! The people are really friendly. It would be difficult to find another place that would surpass the fresh air and ambience of this place.

This is a beautiful & immaculately kept home set in a stunning location. It was everything the photos promised. We really appreciated the communication from Mary, made us feel very welcome. Every facility is in place for guests, the house is perfectly set up for families and the enclosed grounds meant we could relax while our dog pottered about. Beyond the amazing views of Bantry Bay this is a great location for exploring the south west generally. The shop in Durrus will cater for most needs and Bantry is only a few minutes further if required. Definitely recommended!

The meadows is a truly magical experience, myself and my partner spent 3 nights here and it was pure bliss. If you're looking to get away from it all and relax I would recommended Mary's beautiful home. We spent our time going for hikes, having a Jacuzzi and lounging in front of the fire. The view from the main bedroom is breathtaking! Waking up to that view each morning is such a treat. Unfortunately we never met Mary but her friend Angela was on hand if we required anything and Mary was so each to contact and quick to reply. Already looking forward to staying again.

You can't get much further away from it all than this - 35 minutes drive from Bantry, right out near the tip of the Sheep's Head peninsula, is this haven of peace. One of the the best-equipped kitchens we have encountered in a holiday rental. Falling asleep at night with the stars, and the lights of Castletown-Berehaven across the water. Waking up in the mornings and watching the dawn slowly light up the Beara Peninsula. The location on the listing (shown near Bantry) is incorrect, it should be: (PHONE NUMBER HIDDEN)"W, but make sure you don't enter those coordinates into a GPS until after you get to Durrus or you could be subjected to 20km or so of very rural Irish roads!

Mary's home is the complete package. Luxurious, comfortable and the most scenic location one could wish for. The whole family loved it including a 17 year old girl and our golden retriever Willow, with countless pictures of Willow sitting enjoying the view from the bedroom window. The house is so comfortable and well equipped, we cooked at home. Everyone was sad leaving so an extended return trip will definitely be on the cards. Thank you Mary for opening your idyllic home!
