Beautiful 18th Century Cottage, with gardens, and unspoilt views across miles of rolling landscape. A cherished family-owned home for decades, all amenities from washing machine, dishwasher and dryer to wifi are provided. We're 80 yards from the nearest house along a quiet rural lane, providing total tranquility, but with great, close connections to Oxford and London by road and rail. All of the glorious walks and attractions of the Cotswolds on our doorstep.

The space

The cottage is arranged over three floors (covering a little over 2000 square feet) with four bedrooms, a living area, a dining area, a kitchen, a bathroom and a cellar. The property has two outside gardens and a patio all of which are part of the property. A barbecue is available if needed, plus additional chairs for outside seating. The field beyond is privately owned, so off-limits I'm afraid, and you must of course stick to public footpaths if you're out walking.

Guest access

All rooms are accessible (though one or two of the cupboards will be locked with our personal stuff in them).

Other things to note

Please make sure that you don't obstruct the lane when you park. There is a parking space for two cars in front of the cottage. And you can also park your car beyond the big ash tree, by lane at the other side of the garden.

We have just got home from a long weekend in this charming house. The kitchen is very well equipped with everything you could possibly need for a stay away from home. The bedrooms are lovely with very comfortable beds. The dining table seats 8 people easily. The garden is fairly small and not secure if you have young children, but this did not spoil our fun. The beautiful view more than made up for it! Thank you for a lovely stay. I wish we could have stayed longer

Awesome place, never lived such house with so wide grass and view. Amazing experiences especially at night. It's perfect if it is with one more toilet as we have many ladies in the group. This is the must choose place for anyone want to experience the country style in UK. Extremely recommended.

Thanks so much for your kind words. Very much appreciated. We are working on a plan to build in a second toilet. May take a while though because it's an old building and there are building rules to be followed! Ed

The cottage is simply great. Very cosy, lots of charm and plenty of space (though there is the odd low ceiling to keep in mind if you are tall). There are many things to do in the wider area but you can also walk from the cottage using the public footpaths that lead you everywhere (have a look in the Spellsbury church just across two fields and a brook) We saw a fox, a badger and a tawny owl in the immediate neighborhood of the cottage.

A classic cottage in the middle of fields. Well appointed and very clean. Some low ceilings and steep stairs all add to the character of this beautiful house. Perfect to explore the Oxfordshire countryside.

This cottage was perfect for us. It was me, my four daughters (11, 10, 8, and 6), and my 81 year-old mother. The stairs might be difficult for some but she had no trouble. My daughters enjoyed the cottage and found it somewhat magical. The backyard has an old tree with a somewhat hollow base they would huddle inside. The location is incredibly quiet and feels secluded but not isolated. If you follow the directions you won’t have a problem finding the cottage, even at night as we did. We were in a 7-person minivan (minibus) so turning around was a little tight but with a little practice it was no problem. Smaller cars should have no trouble.
