Set in a historic house over 500 years old, this conversion from the old stables exudes character and rural charm. Right on the Coleridge Way, it's perfect for walkers and anyone who wants a comfortable base from which to tour Exmoor and North Devon.

The space

You will be living in an old stables - but without the horses, sadly! It has been converted by a well-known architect famous for her work on historic buildings.

Guest access

There is a shared pond terrace, perfect for a quiet day or an evening drink overlooking the sea.

Interaction with guests

We will be around to help guests get their bearings, tell them what's on and recommend great local pubs, walks and restaurants.

Other things to note

• Best not to use Satnav! Print out and follow the arrival instructions under 'Getting around'.
• It's best to get supplies in beforehand, as we are about 15 mins from nearest shops!
• Tesco, Asda & Sainsburys will deliver to us, so with a bit of planning you can sort out your shopping in advance. All you need to know is: Parsonage Farm, TA24 8JN - but you will need to be in residence for their delivery
• Please use the suggested directions below rather than Satnav from Porlock, as the satnav may take you up the Worthy toll road which is currently in very poor condition!

We had a lovely weekend at the stables. We arrived late in the evening but we were given good instructions on how to reach the stables and where to find the key. The stables were lovely and cosy, everything was very clean and the kitchen was well stocked with utensils and crockery. The loaf of bread and local jam were a lovely touch and we enjoyed them for breakfast. We'd definitely recommend this as a great base for a getaway into the quiet countryside. The views across to Wales are beautiful!

Parsonage farm is extra special in the most picturesque location with beautiful views all around. It is remote and perfect for a restorative break from life's stresses. Otter stables is a cosy, comfortable lovely retreat with all the basics you could need. We have had a well needed family break and come back home renewed! Thank you

We stayed at Otter Stable for a weekend trip. This was the first time we had taken our 3 month old daughter away anywhere, so were a little unsure as to how the weekend would go. We needn't have worried! The accommodation was lovely and homely and had everything we needed (incluing the use of a travel cot - thank you), and was a lovely place to come back to after some very soggy walks! Everything we needed was provided, including the unexpected surprise of some delicious homemade bread and jam. We had a lovely relaxing stay and are looking forward to coming back for a longer break in the future.

We've had a lovely few days at Parsonage Otter Stables. We were given a very warm and friendly welcome. The location is stunning. The space was cosy and warm and had everything we needed. The information pack in the living room gave us plenty of inspiration for local walks. Porlock and it environs were a delight to explore. After a walk we were always very happy to come back to such a great base.

We had a fantastic time staying here. There was excellent communication throughout, fantastic directions and a warm arrival. The home was really cosy, perfectly clean and very comfortable. Use of the travel cot was great and we really appreciated the delicious homemade jam and bread too. The home is in an idilic location, very quiet and with great views. I would not hesitate booking here. Many thanks for such a lovely stay.

We have just finished a wonderful three day stay at Parsonage Farm. We were in Otter stables and the accommodation was lovely and cosy and in a beautiful unspoilt location. We’ve had such a great time exploring the coast and are taking a very tired and happy spaniel Home with us. The walk down to Culbone church and on to Porlock weir is lovely and the views from the valley of rocks at Lynton are spectacular! We also thoroughly recommend the Rising Sun in Lynmouth for fantastic food, particularly seafood and the bread and jam goodies left for us at the farm were delicious and a lovely touch. We are taking some more home with us! The only downside is that three days was not long enough! We would definitely like to come back! Such a lovely part of the world. Thank you!
