The space
The apartment is located within the Canteras building and was designed by one of the best Cuban architects of the time: Rodriguez Castells (who among other things designed the magnificent Bacardi Building in Old Havana). The construction of the building was finalized in 1941.
The flat is comprised by a living room, a dining room, two bedrooms, two bathrooms, a kitchen and two balconies. Overall, the total living space is approximately 104m2 or 1120 square feet. It should also be noted that the building has an interior parking space which can be freely used by the visitor (e.g. to park a rental car etc.).
Both the Malecon and the sea can be seen from the first bedroom, as well as the living and dining room. The best view in a particularly pleasant setting can be had from the balcony
The fact that most of the furniture is from the 1950’s gives the apartment a very special vibe. As with many other places in the Havana the visitor is transported back in time and can, at least to a certain extent, experience how it was to live during a different era.
All bedrooms have king-sized beds and modern, comfortable mattresses.

The apartment is located in the well-known public area named La Rampa, which is comprised by the Malecon (seawalk) and the beginning of 23rd Avenue. It is defined as the most popular and important partying and entertainment mile in Cuba. Due to its unique ecosystem of sea breeze and sensuality, it has become the center of bohemian nightlife activity in the city, thus giving additional value to the hotels, restaurants and nightclubs scattered around the area. La Rampa is also a gay friendly area.
La Rampa (Ramp) owes its name to the slope in the road; which artists and young people walk up and down, sharing the joy of living in the sunshine and giving meaning to a new verb in Spanish: rampear (to ramp).
In this area, you will enjoy the proximity of the sea, of the most important Ministries in the country and the University of Havana as well. A great public transport service and a non-stop recreatitional activity are also close at hand in the area. In short, you will be in the real heart of the city, where everything is at hand.

As I have lived in Europe for several years I am fluent in both English and German. The experience of living abroad has made me more culturally sensitive and open when interacting with foreign cultures.
In my spare time, I greatly enjoy playing and walking my two dogs: a Siberian Husky and a German Shepherd. The three of us generally live in my house in Havana, but I also try to spend a good part of the week [close to nature] in the countryside.
