The space
Our cottage is a peaceful and beautiful place to retreat. The cottage is run on electricity and also woodburning stove. It has unlimited wifi, but no mobile signal, so screenshot your directions before you reach the area of Joyce Country, about a radius of 12km outside Finny. It makes a great place to get away from it all and retreat from the phone! while enjoying the beautiful nature all around, with 3 bedrooms, 2 double rooms and 1 single. It has 1 bathroom with electric shower and 1 small toilet. The kitchen is well equipped with all you need to cook at home, a nice spacious area with electric oven, gas hob. Guest access
Guests can walk on hill nearby the cottage and on the roads around the area but must always adhere to the farm rules as its a working farm and always keep gates closed and animals and property must be respected at all times. There is a separate gated entrance to the cottage and private parking for your convenience. And remember, you walk at your own risk so always be mindful of your surroundings and always bring your phone and tell someone your going out and get home by night fall or in the event of fog don't hill walk. Practice "leave no trace" because we must respect our environment. Most of all ENJOY 😉

Where you’ll be

County Mayo, Ireland

The neighbourhood is a quiet peaceful place, summer or winter! all you here are the birds singing and the sheep bleeding and the odd sheep farmer shouting at a dog off in the hill doing his job! The local church is just 10 minutes walk from the cottage if you need it. The local pub is 10 minutes in the car if you need it too, great trad music there though the summer. Sheepdog demo's also just beside you about 10 minutes, check it out!

Hi We are Nora and Tom, parents to 3 adult children, Tomas, Meadhbh and Ellen who you will come across if you stay here! We run an organic sheepfarm, we breed Connemara Blackface Mountain Sheep and Connemara Ponies. My biggest love is baking and the garden, when I have time. So I cook and bake when it rains and I'm in the garden when the sun shines! We live in beautiful scenic area with lots of walks and lakes and hills.
