The historic town of Marvão is 15 minutes by car and the Roman ruins of Ammaia are just 5 minutes away.

Located in Portagem, at the foot of the Marvão mountain range, it is a 3-minute walk from the local pools and a 10 minute drive from the castle. Surrounded by typical restaurants and serene landscapes, it is the ideal base for exploring the region, savouring the local cuisine and resting in a calm and authentic atmosphere.

A typical house of a historical village

The À-da-MiZé house is the realization of a dream. The name is inspired by our own names - Milita and Zé. Here, in the Alentejo, when you go to someone's house, you say "I'm going to my mother's house," hence the name. It was restored between 2020 and 2021, respecting its standards and identity, with the intention of living (one day later) in the center of a small Alentejan village with a close relationship with the neighbors.

In the heart of the Serra de S.Mamede Natural Park, it is surrounded by a wide variety of native flora, such as Cork Oaks, Olives, Oaks or fruit trees. Crossed by the Sever River and a stream that invites refreshing baths for its numerous waterfalls. It also has two real natural pools, old irrigation tanks reused.

Our little stone cottage lies on a stream and has views of the beautiful hills and meadows full of olive and cork trees. In the garden you will find some fruit trees, herbs and flowers. Not far there is a nice waterfall to enjoy hot summer days. This is a peaceful place to relax. Here you can get immersed in nature's beauty, enjoy the sky full of stars and listen to the sheep's bells chiming.
