This is one of the few remaining pure Japanese-style shoin-zukuri buildings in Hiroshima City, built 75 years ago, shortly after the war.Just a stone's throw from the main street, in a quiet setting, this small but charming property features a Japanese-style garden where you can relax and unwind. Some of the items on display at the Dance House, such as a vase partially melted by the heat from the atomic bomb dropped on Hiroshima on 6 August 1945 and photographs from around 100 years ago, are only kept there. The fittings and glass date back over 70 years to that era, and the two gardens, the hearth, and the study, in particular, capture the atmosphere of a traditional Japanese home. At present, these items can only be obtained by placing an order with a select group of craftspeople. Of the five rooms, three are tatami-mat rooms; please sleep on the tatami mats with your futon on top at bedtime. Located in Minami-ku, Hiroshima City, and accessible by a single tram ride within the city. From the nearest tram stop ①, it takes about 20 minutes to get to Hiroshima Station. From the nearest tram stop (②), you can reach the Peace Memorial Park and the Atomic Bomb Dome, as well as the city centre, in around 20–30 minutes. The taxi journey takes around 10 minutes. You'll find everything you need for daily living right in the neighbourhood at the large Youme Town Hiroshima shopping centre. Convenience stores (7-Eleven, FamilyMart), eateries (okonomiyaki, ramen, sushi, yakiniku, waffles, bakery, etc.), and more are all within walking distance.

Guest House Kokoro is located one block from Miyajima's Machiya-dori Street. 　When you pass through the warm curtain at the entrance, you are guided to the courtyard by stepping stones, with bamboo walls reminiscent of a Kyoto row house restaurant. The courtyard is also beautifully balanced with white marble and gravel, contributing to the calm atmosphere. There are glass doors in the living room that allow you to see the courtyard. 　The building is only for guests to stay in through the garden, so there is no need to worry about anyone. From the outside, it is an ordinary private house, but when you step inside, it has a different atmosphere, which is part of the charm of the inn. I heard that the previous owner has always loved gardening and had a wide range of hobbies. However, as I mentioned at the beginning, I didn't intend to start an inn at first, so there is no bath facility (there is a shower). However, you can use the nearby inns as an outdoor bath. The first floor is a living room, and the second floor is a two-room Japanese-style bedroom, and up to 6 people can stay comfortably. 　In the courtyard, there is a white stone character "kokoro" (heart) inscribed in the gravel. It was made by the gardener a long time ago for fun, and it is the origin of the name of the inn. He said he wants to welcome people with all his heart and help them relax and enjoy their stay.

There is a separate indoor bath from the Hinoki bath, but the view of Setouchi and the starry sky from the Goemon bath, heated with firewood, is the best. If you're lucky, you'll see artificial satellites and meteors. The water heated by firewood never gets cold. It warms you from the core of your body. The bedding is specially ordered from a long-established bedding manufacturer in Kyoto, and the bath invites you to relax your body and mind and sleep soundly. Most guests say they sleep well. During the day, you might want to spend some time in the lounge filled with houseplants. Enjoy the sunlight shining through the trees from the skylight. Here, the right answer is to do nothing and just be. How about emptying your mind? If you request at least a week before your stay, we can prepare local food from Oshima Island and seasonal food that we can get through a special route. There are two spacious bedrooms and a dining space in a large Japanese-style room. You can enjoy the Japanese countryside comfortably and at your own pace.
