"Sihna" is inspired by the custom of the celebration of the Sichna that takes place in Litochoro on the day of the Epiphany. It has its roots in Byzantium and continues to this day. Sihna are tall poles with a silver or gold cross on top, bearing colorful flags. These are tributes of guilds and seafaring families, which participate with a specified ritual in the sanctification of the waters in Litochoro. I would like to inform all prospective visitors that the apartment located in the village of Mesagkala is recommended for the summer months, mainly because after September 15th the village supermarket and the fast-food place with gyros are no longer open. The nearest villages with a supermarket open all year round and restaurants are about a 12-minute drive away, in Platamonas.
