Here you can fish in the fjord that is icy 6 months a year, go mountain hikes in the nearby area or drive into Tromsø which takes about 30 minutes. Lyngen Alps, Storhaugen, Blåvatnet, Lyngen Staircase are easily accessible. There are also good fishing spots nearby. If you have an accident, the doctor on call can be found 17 km from Birtavarre.
