Close to nature and quiet, right on the Kiel Canal – and yet only 15 minutes from Kiel and 20 minutes from the Baltic Sea. Garden on the field of an organic farmer – deer also graze here sometimes in the morning. Ideal for families: bedroom plus living room with sofa bed, extra bed for toddlers possible, garden for romping around, washing machine. Dogs are very welcome – great walking paths along the canal (garden not fenced; please bring a bowl). Beaches with playgrounds and dog beaches, a zoo, bike tours – all very close by.

In recent years, we have lovingly handcrafted a vacation apartment (60 m2) from the former classroom wing of the "Grot School", where the "groten" (big) students had their classroom. A light-flooded large eat-in kitchen forms the center of the stylish apartment. Centrally but rurally located, 15 minutes by car to the Kiel center, 25 minutes to the beach. Paddle on Eider & Westensee, hike in the nature park!

The house is located in the middle of Schierensee, an idyllic village with about 400 inhabitants in the Westensee Nature Park. Here you are surrounded by a magnificent landscape, ideally suited for long hikes and bike tours. At the lake there is a swimming area with a great kiosk cafe, which is run with a lot of love and passion. Guests can indulge in culinary delights at Gasthof La Famiglia. A little secluded from the village, there is a large organic farm with a farm shop and cafe.
