Situated in the lovely village of Portinscale this warm detached family home provides everything you might want to enjoy a stay in the Lake District. We are situated 5 minutes walk from Derwent Water and the Nicol End Marina for kayaking and water activities. Portinscale has a pub that serves food and a cafe. Our favourite eating places nearby are Swinside Inn and the Ivy Restaurant in Braithwaite. Keswick is a mere 5 minute drive or 20 minute walk for eating out, shopping and outdoor sports.

Grange Bridge Cottage occupies one of the most iconic settings within the Lake District National Park. Situated at the entrance to the picturesque village of Grange in Borrowdale. Formally a tea shop providing refreshments to weary walkers, the cottage becomes your very own Base Camp from which to explore, adventure or just relax in the hot tub while taking in the grandeur of the setting and the abundant wildlife. Mouse House is a stylish one bedroom cottage previously a small stone barn when originally part of Rowling End farm. Views are across Newlands Valley to Catbells mountain affording immediate access for fell walking. Comfortably furnished to provide a kitchen and dining area plus sofa and chair downstairs with a bedroom and en-suite shower upstairs. There's a smart TV in the lounge. The beds can be configured as either super king or twin single beds by contacting host in advance.

We are situated near Grange village, within the Borrowdale Valley. A fantastic central location for a staycation in the Lake District. With miles of footpaths from our doorstep, adventure awaits! There is a bus stop 1 mile from our pod, which takes you to Keswick and beyond.

Barn under Catbells in the Lake District

We are a nature friendly farm at the foot of Catbells. Great walking straight from the door. We cater for walkers and cyclists who will appreciate the peace and quiet of the location. The accommodation is very basic with a small kitchen area, a wood burning stove, 3 single mattresses, and a double bed on the mezzanine. The bathroom is next to the camping barn, and there is a washing up area outside. The barn will be exclusively for your use, it is not shared.
