The delicious and award-winning goat's cheese that won the "World Cheese Awards" in October 2023 is produced 50 metres from the cottage. From mid-July, the goats are the closest neighbours to the cabin. Here you will also find Northern Europe's oldest and smallest stave church, built in 1147.

The cabin is located 12 km from the Sogndal shopping center, 26 km from Sogndal Airport Haukåsen and 23 km from Sogndal Ski Center Hodlekve. From Sogndal (12 km) and Leikanger (7 km) there is a daily express boat to and from Bergen.
