Hossa National Park opens in front of the cottage. The cottage is located by the peaceful Joukojärvi lake. The cottage was built with respect for traditions from a building carved in the 1890s. Heating is provided by a soapstone oven and two stoves. Electricity is produced with solar energy only in the darkest months, recharging the batteries with an aggregate. Wood-burning sauna in the same building. The outdoor toilet is composted and odorless. Kainuu Nature Trips rents electric fatty bikes, gliding shoes and canoeing equipment.

We are pleased and honored to renovate and live in this valuable building, the former Pudasjärvi municipal hall. We want to offer guests the opportunity to stay in an apartment in a log house built in 1936 on the shore of Iijoki. The apartment has its own kitchen and toilet-bathroom. You can explore the Iijoki estuary and its islands by renting a safe, air-filled kayak with equipment from us. Electric bicycles can also be rented.
