At the same time, you can access the bustling city of Morioka in just 60 minutes by car, making it a very convenient base for sightseeing in the three prefectures of Iwate, Aomori, and Akita in the Northeast. We recommend using a private vehicle to enjoy a relaxing vacation. The APPI Snow Mountain Resort area has shops, restaurants, and convenience stores, and there is also a supermarket about 20 minutes away by car. There are also great hot spring areas such as Matsukawa Onsen, and Hachimantai Ski Resort and Shimokura Ski Resort are also nearby. It is a cool highland area at an altitude of 900 m, so you can enjoy the natural air conditioning in the summer and a comfortable stay in the warm rooms in the winter. Appi Kogen Log Cabin

This Cabin is a newly refurbished self catering unit that will easily sleep 5 people with room to spare. It's close to the slopes and has all the modern appliances you could possibly need. The kitchen is fully equipped with a microwave, stove, blender, rice maker, fridge freezer, kettle and an automatic self grinding coffee pot. It is stocked well enough with plates, cups, silverwear etc to easily cater for 8 people.
