I’ve lived here 32 years. I will help you see Cape Cod like a local. The house and gardens are visual treats. There are very steep stairs to your room and bath. We're on busy Rt. 6, 5-10 minutes to the National Seashore Atlantic beaches and lots of Bay beaches. I’m close to Orleans and 20 minutes to Wellfleet and Brewster - 40 minutes to Provincetown. Ferries to the islands are a 20-minute drive.

The space
The second floor bedroom is accessed by its own very steep staircase. There is an ensuite bathroom with shower and the air-conditioned room offers a queen bed, double futon, a small desk, and a mini refrigerator. Self serve coffee and tea is in the room. High speed WiFi. Our home was built in the 1840s by Hinckley Lincoln, a local sea captain whose family owned the home for 150 years. In our garden oasis enjoy reading, sunbathing, a hot game of croquet, or s'mores in the evening over the outdoor fire. Our screened porch is a delight from morning to night.

Guests may enjoy the dining room, music room with grand piano, a beautiful living room, and in the summer a colorful screened porch, gardens, outdoor shower and patio. The outdoor shower is a delicious summer experience with hot and cold water, breezes wafting around you and the hydrangea climbing overhead.

During your stay
We are retired and are at home and available much of the time. We've lived here for almost 30 years and know the Cape well. We're friendly and have lively minds. We will make your stay memorable and fun.

Other things to note
In the music room our grand piano is tuned and ready for anyone who plays.

Neighbourhood highlights

We are close to both the Atlantic Ocean and Cape Cod Bay, about 2 miles either way, with Town Cove across the road. Eastham has only a few shops and restaurants and a beautiful new library. Orleans is full of shops and restaurants, just 10 minutes away. The bike trail is close by as well as rental bikes. Wonderful walking paths and beaches await your discovery.

I live in an 1840s Greek Revival home near the headquarters of the National Seashore. I am an artist working mainly in oils and I love to garden, be outdoors and cook. John was a retired professor from England and he died peacefully in April, 2025 at 91 after a remarkable life. We began hosting on Airbnb in 2014 and I will happily continue to enjoy hosting and making friends from around the world.
