French Bay House is an iconic historic building and one of the most photographed in Akaroa. Its unforgettable and individual style will make this bed and breakfast a place to remember.

The space
Mt Bossu is a spacious and bright king ensuite room on the first floor and boasts a beautiful view of the hills surrounding Akaroa Harbour as well as a view out towards the harbour itself. Relax at the table in the dormer window and soak up the history of one of Akaroa's first houses. Equipped with crisp white sheets, a heater, fan, Ashley and Co toiletries, electric blanket and a hair dryer, you should not want for anything.

Guest access
French Bay House has a shared dining room where breakfast is served every morning. Guests are offered a choice of a cooked or continental breakfast using local, fresh and in season ingredients. There is a sun terrace at the front of the house with a bench swing, ideal for enjoying the final rays of the sun. There is also a terrace at the back of the house shaded by orange and grapefruit trees. Bikes are available for guests to use as well as a petanque set. Washing and drying facilities are available for all guests and there is a fully stocked honesty bar as well as a tea and coffee station for anyone to utilize.

Other things to note
We have a dog who lives on the property with us called Margot. She is a labraspoodle and is therefore hypoallergenic and she has limited access to rooms shared with the guests. (She isn't allowed in the dinning room, guest rooms or upstairs) She is very friendly though and I'm sure you will like her.
