The Nest offers a truly unique tropical experience. Close to all the adventurous tours while having a distinctive jungly feel.

Sun Rapids has 1 double bed, 1 single bed, fans, 110w plugs (electricity 24/7), a private bathroom with hot water, and a veranda with a hammock. You'll hear the rapids of the Mopan River. Kids stay free with parents at the Nest. Listed room rates are for accommodations only. Dinner at US$18 and Breakfast at US$8 can be ordered onsite.

The space
The Nest is in Bullet Tree Falls, and while just over 3 miles from downtown San Ignacio, it feels like a different world since we have a 100+ foot canopy. The mighty Mopan River runs through the yard; in fact, it's on 3 sides of us since we're on a private peninsula.

The colectivo taxis are $1.50US per person, one way, from Bullet Tree to San Ignacio. They run all day, and drop you off, and pick you up, in the center of downtown.

We have a kitchen, and provide guest with:

DINNER US$18.00 BZE$36.00
(entree, salad, veggies, starch, and dessert)
BREAKFAST US$8.00 BZE$16.00
(eggs, toast, fruit, GOOD coffee, tea, juice)
We cook for all diets and are now more famous for our food than having treehouses. We usually hang out and eat with guests so we can exchange travel stories (and life lessons, lol).

The only added expense on the cabins is the government required BTB room tax of 9% that will be charged on site upon checkout.

What else: Wi-Fi in common area, free tubes (for the free river excursions), river front access. Will gladly take you to town if we're heading in for a supply run. We have local beers US$3 and sodas US$1.5 in the common area fridge. We have free water and tea and encourage everyone to stay hydrated in the tropics.

We love animals, and have 3 rescue cats and 2 rescue dogs that will adopt you, haha!

Guest access
Wifi in common area, free tubes for the Mopan River tubing (which can be done on your own without a guide), river front and swimming access. Common space for dining, sitting areas, hammocks, wifi. There is a bus stop five minutes' walk from the lodge that has shared rides to San Ignacio, and we will gladly take you to town if heading in for a supply run.

Other things to note
We have a dragonfly security perimeter, so we have virtually no mosquitoes most of the year.

Spending the night under a 100 foot guanacaste tree in a tree house is like nothing else! The lodge is surrounded on three sides by the Mopan River, so a refreshing swim in clear water is never far away and the wildlife of the area abound. Yes, parrots and toucans are in great number here, along with hundreds of other types of birds, making this an ideal location for bird watching. Coati, agouti, otter, and the giant green iguana are among the many animals which are regular visitors to our beautiful gardens which, though lush and exotic, are virtually mosquito free.
