On the findge of the Wasdale valley on the western side of the lake district. Ideal for a cozy romantic get away or base for exploring the amazing area. The yurt DOESN'T have any electricity in but it does have a lovely little wood burning stove and you have access to a mini kitchen in the utility room a short distance away . We are situated 5 minutes walk from Derwent Water and the Nicol End Marina for kayaking and water activities. Portinscale has a pub that serves food and a cafe. Our favourite eating places nearby are Swinside Inn and the Ivy Restaurant in Braithwaite. Keswick is a mere 5 minute drive or 20 minute walk for eating out, shopping and outdoor sports.

Parking for three cars , EV charger , bike storage , gardens and a BBQ this is a great base to enjoy the magic of our Lakeland valley.

An ideal base for exploring the Western Lake District and Cumbrian Coast. It is surrounded by scenic walks and activities. It is close to St Bees coast to coast walk too. The famous Coledale horseshoe ridge walk starts and finishes in the village. The popular mountain biking trail centre at Whinlatter Forrest is less than 2 miles from the cottage.

The cottage resides within our farm, Terrace Farm with open countryside and panoramic views of the Lakeland Fells and numerous Wainwrights including Melbreak, Whiteside, Low Fell, Hopegillhead to name but a few.

One of two traditional wooden shepherd's huts situated at the top of the beautiful Wasdale valley on a working Lakeland hill farm. Both huts have spectacular lake views over Wastwater and the surrounding fells and are the perfect bases for outdoor activities. Each hut comes complete with its own bathroom with shower, kitchen area and outdoor seating with BBQ. The shepherd's huts are brand new for summer 2022 and are currently being built from scratch here on the farm.
