Home in Na h-Eileanan an Iar
AIRD VILLA, Scalpay, on the Isle of Harris
Aird Villa with its south facing decking's said to be one of the nicest houses on the Isle of Scalpay. It sits overlooking Scalpay’s gentle North Harbour where the local fishing boats are moored. From the decking it's exhilarating watching the birds & boats as you are more or less right above the water's edge.
The house was recently renovated to a very high standard and so is comfortable, spacious & warm. It has a modern clean feeling coupled with the charm of a traditional Scalpay island home.

Cottage in Na h-Eileanan an Iar
Taigh Iomhair - Shoreside Cottage
Taigh Iomhair was originally a stone built thatched 'blackhouse'. It first appears on local historical records in 1814, but it is likely it was built in the latter half of the 18th century. The main structure of the house has not changed in over 200 years, but the property was internally refurbished in 2019, including new bathroom, kitchen, flooring and furnishings. The thatched roof was replaced many years ago, but the house still retains a character from a bygone crofting era.
