Aird Villa with its south facing decking is said to be one of the nicest houses on the Isle of Scalpay. It sits overlooking Scalpay’s quiet North Harbour where the local fishing boats are moored. From the decking it's exhilarating watching the birds & boats as you are more or less right above the water's edge. Your accommodation is connected to ours, but you will have a private entrance. We offer a large bedroom with a double bed, a single bed, wardrobe, chest of drawers, mirror and rocking chair. The bathroom is spacious with an electric shower. The sitting room has a sofa bed, fridge, toaster, microwave and kettle with various teas and coffees. We have a table-top hotplate and a mini-oven. We offer wifi, Sky Q TV, books and games. The door will be unlocked on arrival, if we are not there.

It has all you need for a comfortable stay from a well kitted out kitchen, bathroom with full size shower to a comfortable sitting area. It has a double bed and the sofa converts to a double bed. It benefits from underfloor heating. It has an unique position with an uninterrupted view of the sea and surrounding landscape. It takes its name from the two Heron's that nest on the island opposite the pod.

Tach I Count Cottage

Taigh Iomhair was originally a stone built thatched 'blackhouse'. It first appears on local historical records in 1814, but it is likely it was built in the latter half of the 18th century. The main structure of the house has not changed in over 200 years, but the property was internally refurbished in 2019, including new bathroom, kitchen, flooring and furnishings. The thatched roof was replaced many years ago, but the house still retains a character from a bygone crofting era.
