“I loved this stay! It was something totally different from what I am used to, but extremely necessary to totally disconnect from the world & connect with my little family of 3 (Boyfriend & Perrhija). I felt extremely cultural and relaxed. It will definitely not go off my favorites! See you again Casa Ámbar!”

“Ruben's home and hospitality made my 10 day visit to Puerto Rico more wonderful. I stayed here for 3 days with two friends and had more than enough space with an entire floor to ourselves. The view of the open patio faces a beautiful mountain and village. The rooms and house is very clean and beautiful with modern updates. The bathroom has a big stone shower that works great. Ruben and Brian are great host and took us several places in Ponce and Penuelas. They served breakfast and answered any questions with additional suggestions. They also were very knowledgeable and guided us anywhere we needed. There are too many details to add here. If you want to stay at a beautiful, peaceful home with amazing hosts then this is the place to go. I am leaving here with two more friends in PR and you will too after staying here. Thank you Ruben and Brian, I look forward to visiting again!”
Casa del Mundo is nestled in the tropical forests of the South Central Mountains of Puerto Rico in a high mountain river valley ( the river runs through the farm ) yet only 30 minutes from town and 45 minutes to the Guanica beaches. The original Jibaro farm house lovingly renovated for modern use yet retaining a rustic feel. There is no environ or abode on the island that can match it's unique beauty. This is more than just a place to stay--it is an experience you will savor for many days after
“Sana and Papo’s place truly is a treat and a very unique experience. The place has spectacular views and the home-cooked meals by Daly were amazing, definitely 10/10 recommend her cooking. We ventured out to some of the rivers and natural pools near by, and they were a delight. It is very secluded and a beautiful escape from touristy areas. As others noted, the drive up is a bit difficult. It’s not too bad until you get to the very end and have a steep zig-zag turn, but Papo guides you through it and it was fine. I wish we were more prepared the amount of bugs in the house. The bugs are EVERYWHERE. And it was unbearable at night. We kept feeling and hearing flies buzzing in our ears and little bugs and ants crawling on us in the bed. It was the worst feeling ever, and our bug spray didn’t prevent the bites. We kept the food stored away to minimize bugs, but it didn’t help. We kept all the lights off too at night and closed all the doors and windows. We all got bitten multiple times and my sister got a huge bite right on her forehead. We even slept in long sleeves to and pants to avoid but bites, but we still got bit. I think the problem is that the house is full of metal wired windows and doors and the squares or not small enough to prevent bugs from getting in. They only had one window (in the bathroom) that was lined with mesh. I wish more of the house had this mesh lining. We saw a few huge cockroaches and some of the biggest spiders I have ever seen in my life. It was pretty unsettling. The next day, Sana and Papo did apologize and said the bugs were harmless which was nice. I wish they could’ve told us about the bugs ahead of time so we could’ve been more prepared. They could’ve offered remedies for bug bites, or recommended some remedies to prevent and treat them, or added more mesh lining to the house, or some mosquito nets for the beds. There was so much more that could’ve been done to minimize bugs in the house and allow for a more peaceful sleep for their guests. More importantly, they could’ve provided a booklet of the common spiders, bugs, and lizards that frequently get inside and noted which ones are harmless or which ones bite/are poisonous. It would’ve helped a lot to put us at ease. For the price and the reviews I was expecting more. I booked this place and I’m disappointed that my mom and sister didn’t feel comfortable. Sana and Papo are gracious hosts. I think if we were more prepared for the bugs, our experience and quality of sleep would’ve improved immensely.”
