This is an old traditional house with a full-fledged tea room, built 45 years ago by a tea ceremony master as his own practice space. We have inherited this house and have been protecting it for 10 years, gradually restoring the neglected garden. There is no TV in Shirakamado. Instead, I enjoy making tea, looking out at the garden, reading a book, and chatting with family and friends. More than 80 types of plants and trees grow in the garden, and the camellias once cultivated by tea ceremony masters are once again in bloom.On the natural stone terrace, you can enjoy reading or a cup of tea without worrying about being seen. The tea room still retains the meticulous work of Kyoto craftsmen, and quiet, peaceful time flows there. During your stay, please enjoy the experience of choosing your favourite from a selection of authentic teabowls and brewing your own matcha.We provide a matcha whisk and matcha green tea. There is also a library where you can experience Japanese culture and art, and a small study, the 'Reading & Writing Nook', bathed in soft light through the shoji screens. This secluded guest house is located in the suburbs of Goshogawara City. We have a pet cage in the facility, so guests with dogs can also stay. The kitchen is fully equipped with an IH type system kitchen, fridge, microwave, oven toaster, and ice maker. In addition to furniture, appliances, and fixtures, we have a barbecue grill, so you can enjoy a barbecue in the garden surrounded by a peaceful view. The first floor has an 8-tatami kitchen and an 8-tatami living room, and you can go straight out to the garden. We have a single twin bed and futon in the 12 tatami mat Japanese-style room across the hallway. Toilets, washrooms, dressing rooms, and bathrooms are also available on the first floor. On the second floor, there is one 6-tatami mat bedroom and one 8-tatami mat bedroom, both of which are the type where you lay out a futon. In spring, it has good access to the Hirosaki Castle Sakura Festival, and in summer, it is a location where you can visit Aomori Nebuta and Hirosaki Neputa in addition to Goshokawara Tachibuta.
