Sarah Wassberg Johnson has a master's degree in public history from the University at Albany and has been Director of Education at the Hudson River Maritime Museum since 2012. She and her group of experienced and talented volunteer tour guides (most with over 5 years experience leading tours) will lead you on an exclusive tour of some of the most interesting places on the Rondout Waterfront. All museum tour guides are personally trained by Sarah and have vast knowledge about the history of the Hudson River and the Rondout Waterfront.

Hudson River Maritime Museum

Located on the historic Rondout waterfront, the Hudson River Maritime Museum was established in 1979 to collect, preserve, research, exhibit, and interpret a collection of historical artifacts related to the maritime heritage of the Hudson River and its tributaries.

This is a social impact experience where 100% of what you pay for this experience goes to Hudson River Maritime Museum.

The lighthouse is not handicap accessible and has many stairs, including to reach the first floor of the lighthouse. Children under the age of 6 are not allowed for safety reasons. Each child under the age of 12 must be accompanied by an adult (e.g., 2 children, 2 adults).
