What you'll do
Guests arrive to the artist's modern studio for a complimentary glass of wine or a capuccino. Guests get comfortable, and they receive an overview of the presentation. The sculptures are individually brought in front of the guests - each accompanied by a story and the presentation of media demonstrating the arduous process of turning a piece of the hardest wood on earth into a unique and inspired piece of art. The guests are encouraged to ask questions and to gently touch the sculptures. The event will last 1.5 hours, and receive a maximum of 6 guests.
Each guest is offered a complimentary glass of wine, or a cappuccino - prepared by the artist, using his famous barista…
Jeffrey Barnes is a young Québécois wood sculptor, inspired by conceptual forms. Sculpting only intact (unlaminated) logs, tree rings weave through finished pieces, speaking to the origin of their material lives, and uniting the ideas that are revealed by a purely subtractive process. An exclusive and intimate experience in the artistic heart of Montreal - Little Italy / Mile-X, in front of Mila (E-AI), Barnes welcomes you into his modern airy condo - presenting the unique stories within each sculpture. Animated and passionate about wood sculpture, Barnes draws you through a profoundly inspiring collection of sculptures that have been exhibited in Montreal, and Costa Rican Art Galleries. Wood-lovers describe this a semi religious encounter with the precious material. Perfect cultural activity for a family, or a group of friends
