What you'll do
First, we'll discuss general guidelines for foraging and resources for furthering your education after the experience (guidebooks, websites, etc.). Then, we'll take a walk. Along the way, we'll discover plants that can be gathered and eaten. We'll learn to identify plants properly and learn which plants look alike, plants to avoid, etc. We'll also have the opportunity to taste them! I will also provide some wild prepared edibles in my home after the walk (if available) and continue facilitating discussion.
I have always had a huge interest in nature and the outdoors. About 3 years ago, I started learning about foraging for wild edible plants, fruits and nuts. It's something I feel everyone should know if you want to connect to your environment, even in urban areas. It's something I found intimidating at first but with a little practice and guidance is actually quite easy and fun.
If Mother Nature provides, I will have some prepared wild foods on hand after the walk.
If Mother Nature provides, I will have prepared drinks from wild edibles I've foraged.
