What we’ll do

We will meet on Low tide at Fanore beach. I will show you a variety of edible seaweeds, and talk about the medicinal benefits, health benefits and ways to use seaweed in your diet. We will then sit down to a flask of delicious carrageen seaweed tonic and some super healthy homemade seaweed and oat bread.

What else you should know

Please bring warm clothes. It can be windy on the beach!

What to bring

Raincoat, scissors, and bag for seaweed and an open mind!
A towel if you are brave enough to jump in the sea with me!

Where you'll be

Fanore Beach: At a location known locally as 'An Geata Dearg' or The Red Gate. This is my seaweed supermarket. Not many people harvest here now. Traditionally the locals would gather seaweed here to sell or barter for tea, sugar etc. This is an exquisite location surrounded by the beautiful Burren landscape. Also has a quiet beach for swimming if you are brave enough!
