Born in Shanghai in the former French Concession and raised in the United States, Kylie has a unique perspective as both a local and an outsider. As founder of the ELSA Institute and Freetourasia.com, she has led youths across China in pursuit of real world knowledge. Her aim is to preserve Shanghai's cultural heritage, even amidst 21st century globalization and capitalism.

Discover Shanghai from its humble origins as a fishing village and hear the stories behind how it evolved to become one of the most exciting and cosmopolitan places in the world in the 21st century! Where you'll be

We will start our exploration from People's Square, pass the boundary between West and East Nanjing Road, and enjoy a majestic view of the new Pudong skyline. Along the way, we will stop and marvel at the hidden objects unknown to even the locals!

Communication policy

Guest requirements

Up to 10 guests ages 18 and up can attend. Guests should be able to walk comfortably for 4 miles, at a leisurely pace.

Government ID

You’ll need to take a picture of yourself that matches the photo on your ID. This is so Airbnb can confirm who’s actually going on the experience. You’ll only have to do this once.
