About your host

I'm an expedition chef, private chef and international mountain leader, so luckily I've been able to combine 2 of my passions - great food and a love of the outdoors together. I've worked on the mountains and as a chef for more than 20 years. What I want to teach with these expereinces is to show people that good food and adventure in the outdoors are not mutually exclusive.

What we’ll do

You will learn how to cook great dishes in the outdoors using gas camping stoves. This is a hands-on experience, so each team of 2 or 4 will have a stove on which to cook. You will also have all the necessary cooking equipment provided, including flint and steel, knives, and pots. All the ingredients for a 3 course meal are included. Examples like Egyptian shakshuka with caraway and pumpkin seed…

What else you should know

Please bring your own clothing suitable for an afternoon spent in the outdoors. Including waterproof jacket, warm jacket, runners/boots etc.

Where you'll be

Starting from Ticknock car park we'll take a short hike onto Three Rock Mountain before starting our cooking workshop. Depending on the time of year, we may be able to add some easily identifiable wild edibles to our lunch.

For a full refund, cancel at least 7 days before the experience is scheduled to start or within 24 hours of purchase.

Communication policy

Always communicate through Airbnb. To protect your payment, never transfer money or communicate outside the Airbnb website or app.

Guest requirements

Up to 10 guests ages 18 and up can attend. Guests must be comfortable in an outdoor environment, being able to deal with changes in the weather and cooking with minimal facilities.
