What we’ll do

For two hours, we will meet at the most unique musician hub in the Bay Area, Music City SF, where we will take over a rehearsal studio located beneath a music-themed hotel. I'll break out the keyboard and a big notepad, and interview you about your experiences in San Francisco. You'll show me photos and tell me stories, and I will round up what you tell me and we will transform them into a song…

This is a working musician's rehearsal space, so it can get very loud. Earplugs, water and snacks are available at the main desk. We will still be able to hear each other and work on the song, but expect some noise bleed from other rooms.

I'll cover the studio rental and inform you on how to access the studio on booking.

Creative supplies

For songwriting, I will supply a keyboard, notepads, post-its, and a computer where we can look at photos or videos of your experience together. If any of you are also musicians, there is a drum kit and limited-availability instrument rentals on site.

Music City SF is part hotel, part rehearsal space, all in service to the working music community. They also have a gallery of photos inside their hotel that feature highlights from San Francisco's storied music history.
