My name is Rikki and I am the founder and creative director of WAW Handplanes, a bodysurfing company established in 2014. I have the experience and knowledge to help you hand shape your perfect timber handplane.

What we’ll do
I will guide you through the process of hand shaping a timber bodysurfing handplane.
Starting with a timber blank I will teach you how to shape your board using a number of unique woodworking hand tools and techniques. No previous experience necessary.
You will then get to apply some artistic flair and finally seal your handplane with an oil coat. You will leave with your finished masterpiece…

Where you'll be
My workshop is a large, open and well ventilated studio, and is part of a creative space in Stanmore, Sydney. I have operated my entire handplane business from here for the last 2 years.
