What you'll do

Hike morro da Urca and experience the neighborhood

Welcome to the best adventure the East Bay has to offer. Are you ready to strap on your sneaks and go off-roading to visit local art in the great outdoors? Great! Pack a water bottle and your best fur baby and let's go. If you don’t have a dog to bring, Mary is happy to be your best friend for the adventure.

We start in the ancient village of Temescal (a former Ohlone sweat house village along a creek) now a multi-ethnic, bustling gourmet neighborhood. Close to MacArthur Bart and the 24 Freeway, you’ll have no trouble finding our meeting spot, the Temescal Alley.

We will then go for a drive in my extra comfy and stylish van Betsy to an amazing off leash park and beach in the east bay (20 minutes generally), where You can expect stunning natural settings with great views and a ton of interesting art to be found. Be certain that we will take some fun photos too, Mary is currently in Circus dog training school so she knows some cute tricks and she can def pose for and with us. I’ve been a photographer for 20 years so we can be sure to catch your best angle.

I’m happy to give you information on the creation of our special place. If you prefer to enjoy in tranquility, that is just as beautiful. I’ll follow your lead and be sure to check in.

I've been a photographer for 20+ years and have been working with dogs for the past 4. I’ve also worked as a tour guide mainly for Brazilian tourists visiting the Bay Area. I have an amazing and very photogenic sidekick, Mary (Instagram @mary_puppers) and we like to explore the East bay a few times a week and if you are a dog lover, you’ll be delighted to join us! I'm gonna take you to a special place by the bay, which has lots of funky art from reclaimed materials and stunning views of the bay, as well as a doggie beach. We can explore, play fetch, take photos and we will end up back in the Temescal Alley where I will give you a rundown on this vibrant Oakland area and we can fuel up on coffee or ice cream!

If you’re traveling with a furry friend you’re welcome to bring it along as well, granted it’s friendly and does well off-leash.

I’ve been looking for a fun and dog-friendly adventure and am so glad to have discovered Luiza’s experience! She brought me and my dog Oscar to a unique place that has lots to discover and plenty of off-leash romping around for Oscar, who got along so well with Luiza’s sweet-natured and playful pup, Mary. I’m so glad I got to explore a new place and make new friends. Thank you, Luiza, it’s been a pleasure spending the day with you and Mary! ❤️

Luiza was phenomenal! I just moved to the Bay Area from the east coast and... wow. it's so neat to be around people who are especially charismatic (super easy to talk to! which is refreshing after living in NYC) and creative. Luiza truly made this event something much more special than just a tour; I felt immediately at home and -almost- like a local! I've only been here three months! And Mary (her puppy) really steals the show. I don't have a dog, and can't afford one, so this was enriching. Definitely recommend. Thanks again, Luiza!

Luiza and her dog Mary were great company and we spent some awesome time in an off- leash park. It was fun to get to know a new place which we wouldn't have found on our own. Especially my daughter who desperately wants a dog had a really good and exciting time with Mary. Thank you Luiza and Mary !

Luíza was a wonderful guide/hostess; she knows everything about the area and knows how to interact with dogs and experience the world through their playful perspective; she is also an extremely skillful photographer and we got to learn a lot about photography as well. We had a great time and I’d highly recommend meeting Luiza and Mary.
