Cooper was the best tour guide I have had the pleasure of experiencing. He made the adventure fun, relaxed and enjoyable on a hot day. I chose him particularly for his history background and it proved to be the best choice. His knowledge of the area and the history was extensive. He gave insights that you wouldn’t hear from an average tour guide. Would highly recommend him. Anyone else wouldn’t compare.

Cooper did an excellent job! we learned so many cool things. I’m a huge fan of history and did not know a lot about this city so it was fun to hear it from him! he knows more than just facts. He understands the entire context of history at that time and is able to talk things out when visitors have questions very impressive!!!

Cooper gives a very good tour. He teaches you things you likely won’t learn on any other tour of Charleston. We now know things the history books don’t tell you at all, or get wrong. Very informative and interesting. Just be sure to bring plenty of water, it’s hot in Charleston in the summer.

About me
Charleston historian and educator
Hey, y'all, I'm Cooper, and I'm passionate about Charleston's 350 years of history. I hold three degrees (including a PhD) and taught at USC. As an educator, I provide facts, context, and encourage constructive dialogue. I'll teach you things you didn't know and challenge what you think you know. Plus, I get to tell Dad jokes—gotta love a good dad joke!
