What you'll do
Cooking classes in Mexico can be a wonderful experience, but what happens when you return home and can't find the ingredients to make it on your own? I've got you covered.
We'll meet at my home in Condesa to prep and cook our meal together with a mix of traditional cooking equipment while teaching you how to swap it out with alternatives that are staples in every home kitchen.
We'll learn how to prepare and chow down on:
/ Classic Tinga (chicken or veggie)
/ Tamales (savory and sweet)
/ Chilaquiles (verde)
Want a shorter class or a day that isn't scheduled? Ask me!
Passionate cooksLearn traditional recipes and hear personal stories from local hosts.
Intimate settingsShare a meal in unique spaces, from private farms to secret rooftops.

Your host
Tim
Host on Airbnb since 2014
I grew up in the Southern US and have lived all over, including the Midwest, New York, and the Big Island of Hawai'i. Whether I was in school or establishing my career, I’ve always loved to cook from my garden and promote farm to table dining.
During my 20 years as a graphic designer and artist, I’ve also worked as chef. I bring all these skills together to teach people how to prep and present Mexican food on their own.
What's included

We'll chow down on everything we make together!

Drinks
Seasonal agua fresca will be served during the cooking class.

Equipment

Where you'll be
We'll meet in my beautiful casita in Roma Sur (as pictured), home to a creative alliance, some of who you may see in action while you're here. Say hello! However, please note that occasionally we'll meet in nearby Escandón (Wednesdays, mostly).
If you'd like to join me to shop at the market nearby, let me know and we'll see what we can do...
