What you'll do

An ultimate tour for those eager to explore off the beaten path, where you will explore the lush valley of Dean Village with a focus on key Scottish architectural features. Accompanied by your architect-guide, you will marvel at the goddess Hygiea within a Neoclassical mineral water temple, then take in the 1830s stonework of Dean Bridge designed by Thomas Telford. After discovering the picturesque Baronial legacy of the ancient milling village, learn about the Victorian social housing building of Well Court. Lastly, walk through a chic 19th-century cemetery to see two exceedingly glamorous Georgian orphanages now converted into modern art galleries. Your hosts

We are Olga, Agustina and Marie, a team of architect-guides behind Edinburgh architecture tours. Our collective has been showing Edinburgh's cultural history through architecture for years now. You will meet one of us on your tour, we cannot wait to share our savvy with you! Olga is a tutor in architecture at Edinburgh University and a founder of Cobble Tales - Edinburgh architecture tours. Agustina is a conservation architect, and Marie is currently finishing her masters in architecture at Edinburgh University. We have all received architectural education in the United Kingdom and absolutely adore Edinburgh as a place to live and work. We speak English, French, Spanish, Italian, Russian and Lithuanian. If you are not an English speaker, request the language ahead of booking and we will match you up with the guide.
