What you'll do
Food is definitely one of the most important parts of every culture. That being said, we'll explore the local markets, try some authentic street food & drinks, and talk about the traditional preparations while mingling with the locals. Get ready to discover genuine places where the real Santiaguinos hang out! This experience will involve all your senses, especially the sense of taste. We'll make our way through two different food markets, stopping at the carefully selected stalls for samples, before we head to a bakery (well kept local secret) to eat the best empanada in the downtown. Don't expect anything fancy or elegant, just good hearty food and rustic ambiance. We'll then walk to a historic bar where you'll have an opportunity to enjoy the famous "terremoto" cocktail in an authentic atmosphere. Both the tour and the tastings are included in the price. I'll also provide my personal recommendations, to help you make the most out of your stay in Santiago.
Min. 7 samples including traditional snacks & street food, seasonal fruits/vegetables. Guided visit of two Santiago food…
Famous local cocktail (18+). If you don't drink alcohol you can opt for a non-alcoholic beverage or water instead.
Hola! :) I'm a food and wine enthusiast, passionate about Santiago and local traditions. I'm hosting this experience with my friend Sergio - if you book, you'll meet one of us. As tour guides we enjoy making travelers feel "at home" in our city. We'll take you to places you would not find on your own and show you what it's like to be a Chilean, even if only for one day. * Guest review: "All in all I had a great time, I left the experience feeling happier and fuller, and after the last drink of terremoto definitely merrier!" * All food & drink tastings are included in the price.

Where you'll be
We'll head to La Vega to sample at some of my favorite fruit and vegetable stalls, and chat with the vendors that I've known for a long time (I'll translate for you). We'll then continue to Mercado Central (seafood), while learning about the traditional Chilean dishes and preparations. For lunch you'll have a delicious empanada and we'll end our walk at the oldest local bar with the famous "terremoto" in hand. Salud!
