What you'll do

Probably one of the most interesting facts about Belgrade is that it exists at all. In its long history, it has been devastated more than twenty times. The reasons people continued living there is that it ocupies a vital strategic position at the confluence of the Sava and Danube rivers, and lies on the cross roads between east and west.Belgrade is like a hidden Berlin in Eastern Europe. I will show you my favorite places in Belgrade. Just like any other city, Belgrade too has a lot of mysterious corners and stories. Some of those stories are just tales, a product of imagination, but the others really happened. Some of them I'm going to share with you.

Passionate participation in EYP ( European Youth Parliament ) and UN ( United Nations ) models have influenced my decision to seek for something new. Traveling around Europe gave me a different and unforgettable experience in my life. I constantly gain inspiration from museums, art galleries and actively seek to share ecstatic encounters with art. I love showing visitors the beauty and reality of my surrealistic, colorful, and wonderful city.

Where you'll be

If you come to see what is different in Belgrade, you will notice many things; starting with architecture maybe, as already described, which shows us how much Belgrade is an eclecticism of all styles: classicism, art nouveau, modern and traditional all one beside another! That is rarely to see in other cities. And I can show you the true colors of Belgrade.

Sava was a fantastic guide for my first visit to Belgrade. I learned so much about the history and culture, and discovered places I never would have seen on my own. He also sent me a list afterwards of all the places we visited for reference and some great recommendations for dining. Definitely a memorable experience!

"Welcome to Belgrade" is the perfect start for a stay in this beautiful city. Sava was a fantastic guide for this 2,5h-tour. He is friendly, knowledgeable and open. We learned very much about history and culture of Serbia and former Yugoslavia. We discovered places with Sava we never would have seen on our own. We highly recommend Sava's tour!

Sava's tour did what my husband, Jeff, and I had hoped for: gave us a chance to interact with a local, learn about life in Belgrade, see many sites and learn about less-touristy areas. Sava is not a historian, and he doesn't claim to be. But he gave great restaurant recommendations and things to do in the city. We enjoyed our time with him.

I was thrown into a business trip to Belgrade last minute. Ended up arriving a day early and wanted to do as all on this platform want to do — get out of my room, circumnavigate the tourist traps, and actually immerse myself in my surroundings. Sticking with the last-minute trend of the trip, I booked this experience with Sava 90 minutes before it was scheduled. And let me just pause and say here — I’m not sure my review will do anything or say anything that the others haven’t already said. It was those reviews that convinced me to fight jetlag, throw water on my face, and walk to the square to meet Sava. But I’m on my fourth glass of Serbian wine of the night, so I’ll pile on the positivity. Sava was tremendous from before the tour started until after it was over. Ahead of time, he was overly communicative about where to find him and what he’d be wearing. When we departed, he sent an exhaustive list of personal recommendations to tour members. And between — well, let me begin by highlighting the fact that this young man has a printed presentation consisting of ~25 slides. Sava — who is named for one of the two rivers that flow through Belgrade, of course — seamlessly, easily weaved a thread through historical facts, architectural facts, cultural facts, personal facts, never thrown off by the many questions I hurled his way. Talking about the former Yugoslavia can’t be easy. It’s sticky. But Sava was measured, composed, and objective as he navigated the subject. On a few occasions he would hedge his commentary with a tone that sounded like, “I personally feel (this certain) way, but not everyone feels that way.” His neutrality and diplomacy struck a chord with this American. Moreover, he found a way to throw in surprises and unique facts — stuff that you knew wasn’t standard-fare, tourist-bus stuff. I’m so very glad that I dedicated a sliver of my short time in Belgrade to this and highly recommend this to anyone looking for a human, non-commercial, fun way to learn about the city. Ziveo! Back to the kadarka.
